HOW DID CHRISTIANITY SPREAD IN THE ROMAN EMPIRE?
Loading...
Paul began to spread Christian ideas to jews. He went through three long, and harsh journeys to spread Christianity. Many poor people in the area favoured the concept of loving god and a life after death. The Romans persecuted these Christians for rejecting the Roman religion. But Paul travelled far and his followers took a huge part in spreading Christianity to Rome.

Peter on the other hand visited cities where gentiles lived and spread the idea of Christianity. They also tried to make the jewish laws less effective so that christianity would take over. Almost 400 years later, it became the official religion of the Roman Empire.

HOW DID CHRISTIANTIY CHANGE THE ROMAN EMPIRE AND WHY WOULD AN EMPEROR USE IT TO GOVERN?
Loading...
An emperor would use christianity to govern because in Christianity, it's all about preaching love and tolerance to one another. If an emperor makes a law based on love and peace, then people will be more kind and peaceful to each other. Which means less crime will be committed and also means people will be much easier to control for the emperor since they are taking care of each other and the emperor has less problem to deal with. Christianity also changed the Roman Empire since Christianity focused more on peace and love instead of aggressive conquest. Ancient Rome became less aggressive and more peaceful. It also changed the way they believed in god. Rome used to believe in multiple gods but now they focus on one god.
