Who is Matthew?

Matthew was a tax collector when he was first called by Jesus to be his disciple. When Jesus called him, he was in Capernaum. He was also known as Levi, Alpheus' son. It was written in Mark 2:1-17. As a tax collector, he took money from Jews for Roman Empire. Before he became the disciple of God, people didn't like him. But, after he became a disciple, God was his priority and he followed Jesus.

Mark was a friend of Paul and Barnabas on their missionary journey as it was written in Acts 12:25. He was the author of the book of Mark. Mark describes Jesus as a servant of God. Jesus suffered on the cross, followed God’s will and prioritize other people's need before His own.
