Diary Of Jacques Cartier 

	To be honest with you, I’m not sailing across this mainly becasue it’s my job, I’m sailing for the Glory. I want to be the one who discovered the Orient, the one who sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, the one vital to a change in our world.

	Greetings whoever is reading this, it’s April 20, 1534, and today I start our exploration on finding a route to the Orient. 

It’s really early, the sun’s not even up and the stars still shine in the dark morning sky. I use that to my advantage, charting our voyage using the stars as our guides through the sea. 

	I’ve been on this ship for close to a week, sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, relying completely on a map and a compass and I’ve just made a quick stop for trading.

	I traded silk, spices, and other treasures from our distinct places.

	I made it, I discovered the Orient. I changed the world. France now has some claim to this land because of me, just think of it, the glory I’ll recieve when I get back home. I’ve also started being a part of something called the French fur trade, it seems promising and maybe I’ll get something out of it. <br xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"/>
