U blizini maloga sela Markovca nalazi se velika šuma okružena cvijećem i vijugavom rijekom Lauritom.
Near the small village of Markovac there is a large forest surrounded by flowers and the winding river Laurita.

Na šumskom lišću plašljivi puž Pero upijao je zrake proljetnog sunca.
On the forest leaves, the timid snail Pero soaked up the rays of the spring sun.

Iznad puža Pere raširila se grana na kojoj je veliki pauk Pačo pleo svoju mrežu.
Pačo je isprobavao čvrstinu svoje mreže koja je odjednom pukla te se on našao oči u oči s Perom.

Above the snail Pere spread a branch on which a large spider Pacho was weaving its web.
Pačo tested the strength of his net, which suddenly broke, and he found himself face to face with Pero.

U tom trenu, vidjevši jedan drugoga, obojica su poplavila od straha.
At that moment, seeing each other, they both flooded with fear.

U daljini sve je to promatrala šarena zmija Verončika, koja je obavijestila leptiricu Lanu da se puž Pero nalazi u smrtnoj opasnosti.

In the distance, all this was observed by the colorful snake Verončika, who informed the butterfly Lana that the snail Pero was in mortal danger.

Malena ali hrabra leptirica Lana brzo je odletjela do svog prijatelja psa Filija koji je živio u blizini te zatražila pomoć.

The small but brave butterfly Lana quickly flew to her friend the dog Fili, who lived nearby, and asked for help.

Fili jureći stiže u šumu. Zareži na pauka Paču koji se od straha brzinom munje vrati na stablo.

Fili runs into the woods. He slashed at the spider Duck, who returned to the tree with lightning speed out of fear.
