Dear Mr President,
Jani Silva is an activist who has been involved with the campesino farmers in the Putamayo for almost 30 year. She has been devoting all her life to defending the environment and its natural resources.
Although she hasn't been charged and sent to prison, her work has put her in serious danger. She is being followed and constantly intimidated.
I call on you to defend and protect Jani and her fellowship. It isn't just about Jani, it is about the ecosystem of our planet. I hope you take my letter seriously.
Yours sincerely,
Clara González

Germain Rukuki

Evariste Ndayishimiye
President of the Republic
Ntare Rushatsi House
Bujumbura, Burundi
Dear Mr President,
I call on you to immediately and unconditionally release Germain Rukuki. He has been dedicated to work for the truth and justice. The fact that he is in prison is truly unfair. He is also the best father in Burundi, he dedicated heart and soul to his children. In addition, he has never seen his three-year-old son because they imprisoned him before the birth of his child.
Germain is serving a 32-year prison sentence for defending human rights. This prison sentence makes no sense. Furthermore, one of the charges was “rebellion”, if they hadn't arrested him, he wouldn't have rebelled against the police. Obviously, I ask to free Germain as soon as possible.
I believe in the values of the community of Burundi to make Germain Rukuki a free man. I’m looking forward to seeing him happy again, far away from this injustice.
I hope that his little boys will have the opportunity to see his father soon.
Yours sincerely,
Jaume Batllori
