How the Narwhal got it's tusk

At the beginning of the world, when the oceans were new, there was a very polite whale called Narwhal. Narwhal, unlike many animals at the time, was a hunter; however, his politeness prevented him from harming any creature against their will. Because of this, he only ate Greenland halibut, who were -oddly- all too willing to be eaten by him.

So, Narwhal and Seahorse had a chat. They talked about the usual: recent storms; the week; the behaviour of the bad guys in whale jail.

Of all the animals beneath the vast ocean, Narwhal was one of the highest of status. If any animal asked him to do something, he would always reply, “Oh yes! Of course!” this is how he acquired the title of: His Lordship. He had mottled grey skin, no dorsal fin, and four flippers. His tail, like many whales, was flat and was in a ‘Y’ shape.

Almost as soon as Seahorse waved goodbye, another animal -of a very different size- swam up.

“H…I Nar…wha…rl. It…’s goo…d t…o s…ee yo…u to…d…ay.” spoke Blue Whale.

Early one Tuesday, Narwhal’s best friend, seahorse
swam past.

 “Wassup? Nharwarl! Wanna ‘ave a lil’ cha’?”

 “Oh yes! Of course!”

“How perfectly spiffing!” Narwhal replied, “and before you ask, Oh yes! Of course! I will tell you the way to the open ocean. If you keep going, turn left at the Huge Spike o’ Ice, then stay on current C1, turn off at Junction 14, and finally, stay on Equatorial lane until you reach the equator.”
