How Trees Change Each Season
In the Spring...
Trees begin to react to more daylight and warmer temperature, and become very active. New leaves and flowers begin to grow.
In the Summer...
Tree growth slows because the temperature gets higher, so there is less water and nutrients in the surrounding soil.
In the Fall...
The days begin to get shorter. So tree leaves begin to change color because they need a different color of leaves to get the most sunlight.
In the Winter...
Trees go dormant, so that they can survive in lower temperatures and with little sunlight.
Dormant is when something is not active.
Then the cycle repeats all over again!
