Once upon a time, there lived a blue cat of Castle Town. He lived in a red brick house with the Higley family.

One night he was walking around the house and couldn't find his owners. He decided to walk down into the basement. As he was walking down the very old, creepy stairs he could hear voices.

When he got to the last step he discovered a small hidden room under the stairs. The blue cat walked into the little room and saw a little boy and his mom sleeping on a bed of hay.

He was shocked and confused as to why they were in his home. Suddenly, the boy woke up and rolled over off the hay. He saw the blue cat and walked towards him slowly. The boy said, "Hi little kitty my name is Jon". "Is it ok with you, if I call you Bluey?" The cat replied, "Yes, it is ok with me!" Bluey asked, "How did you get down here?" Jon said, "My mom and I are slaves and we are running away from our owners. We saw the statue with the lantern pointing towards your house, in your front lawn. We knew we would be safe here."

Bluey said " Oh! So the statue led you inside?" “The stars guided us through the night as we traveled north. The statue led us to your door” replied Jon. “I am going to go for a walk, Jon. You will be safe here.”

 Bluey walked to the statue and noticed its finger was pointing toward the river. He heard a song coming from the river and followed it. When he got to the river he realized the song was coming from the water splashing over the rocks. The sound was eerie. When Bluey went for a closer look, he fell in and struggled in the strong current to get to the other side.

The next day Bluey woke up on the bank of the river feeling different and not like himself. He rolled over to the edge of the river and saw his reflection. He was no longer blue, he was white.

Bluey was very confused and slowly walked home to the Higley family trying to figure out what happened. He still had no answers but he was tired from his adventure. Bluey curled up in the living room and fell asleep. Bluey slept all day. When he awoke there was light from the moon. He walked outside into the light and something strange happened…

192 years later…
The Castle Town that he remembered is now different. He didn't know where anything was anymore. Bluey was so frustrated and confused about what happened to him.

He decided to walk around the center of town. There were people walking around with things on their faces, covering their mouth and noses. Bluey overheard someone calling them masks. People were wearing masks everywhere. He decided to figure out why.
