Miss Baldwin, Cygnet class teacher, and Mrs Gigg, Duckling class teacher opened the classroom door and said Good Morning to Jo and James. After a hug goodbye they hurried into the classroom and walked through to the cloakroom to hang their coats up.

There were so many different fun things to choose to do Jo and James didn't know where to go first in the classroom!

Mrs Gigg and Miss Baldwin took the registers so they knew which children were in school. When it was their turn Jo and James told her what they had chosen for lunch...it was brilliant to be able to choose lunch everyday!

James and Jo had lots of fun in the morning choosing different things to play with and made lots of new friends.

Outside in the Year R playground there were even more fun things to do!

After some more fun learning in the afternoon it was time for a story before home time. James and Jo loved listening to their teacher reading them a lovely story.

At the end of the day the children all sat on the carpet with their home things and waited for Mrs Gigg and Miss Baldwin to call them to the door to be collected by their parents. James and Jo said goodbye to all the new friends they had made and didn't stop talking all the way home, sharing stories of all they had done at school. They couldn't wait to go back to school again tomorrow!

On the way back in after lunch Jo and James got to look at the other outside play areas at school.

After a healthy snack of a piece of fruit and a drink of milk it was time for playtime.

Playtime was lots of fun. Jo and James came back into the classroom to do some learning with Mrs Gigg and Miss Baldwin. They made it lots of fun with different activities, so much so that Jo and James forgot they were learning!

Before they knew it, it was time for James and Jo to wash their hands ready for lunch. They lined up with the rest of their class and walked to the school hall for lunch. They had to give their coloured ticket to the lunch lady who then gave them their dinner...it was delicious. After they had eaten they got to play outside, this time on the school field.

We can't wait to meet you all in September and wish that you could come to visit but unfortunately it's not possible at this time. Jo and James were nervous about starting school but also a little bit excited. They had their brand new school uniform on and looked very smart. They walked together to school and when they got there they saw lots of other children waiting to go in. They waited outside their new classrooms, Duckling and Cygnet classes.
