Dot Takes a Walk

Dot was restless. Her owners had been so busy that she had not been on a walk. “I need to take a walk,” thought Dot. “Or maybe even a run.” She ran to the front door. It was closed. She rushed to the side door. It was closed. She ran to the back door. It was closed, or was it? She reached out her paw and pushed at the door. It opened! Dot thought, “Should I go? I’ve never been out all alone.” Dot thought and thought. Then, she pushed at the door and charged forward. Dot ran and ran. She ran through yards and she ran through a forest. She came upon a street. “I have never crossed a street by myself,” Dot thought. “I shouldn’t do it now”. So Dot turned around and ran all of the way home. “Next time I will wait for someone to take me for a walk. It’s scary being all by myself,” Dot said. Then she went to sleep in her backyard.
