THE BRITISH ISLES
Great Britain and Ireland are two islands in the north-west of Europe. They are the British Isles.
The British Isles are surrounded by the North Sea in the north, the Atlantic Ocean in the west, the Irish Sea between the two islands and the English Channel in the south. Now there is a train tunnel under the sea.
THE UNITED KINGDOM
Great Britain is an island of three countries: England, Wales and Scotland.
These countries with Northern Ireland form the UK.
Every country has its capital: London is the capital of England, Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, Cardiff is the capital of Wales, Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland.
London is the capital of the UK
