King Arthur was born in the 5th century. With the help of Merlin, a wizard, he removed the magic sword Excalibur from a stone and he became king of the Britons. He married the beautiful Guinevere and they lived in the kingdom of Camelot at Tintagel Castle. King Arthur met his knights at the Round Table. One day Guinevere fell in love with Lancelot, Arthur's friend and best knight. Their love caused chaos and the only way to restore order was to find the Holy Grail, the cup Jesus Christ used during the Last Supper. All the knights left Camelot for the Holy Grail, but a lot of them died.

The legend says that Arthur didn't die but he is sleeping with his knights under a hill, and he will come back to defend Britain if it is in danger. There are a lot of films, TV series and books about this legend. Some of them are The Sword in the Stone, Dragonheart, King Arthur, Merlin, Cursed, Camelot, The Winter King.

This normally consists of sandwiches, crisps, a piece of fruit and a canned drink like coke. If you are in a city or town there are lots of places to eat at lunch time, including sandwich bars, cafés and pubs. Fish and chips is very popular in Britain. Dinner is usually between 6 and 8. The typical English dinner is meat and two vegetables. This consists of meat with boiled vegetables and potatoes. They often have dessert. However, things have changed in Britain and most people eat food from different countries, for example chicken curry, pizza and pasta.

At four in the afternoon, many people like taking a break, sitting, drinking tea and eating something sweet; scones are typical cakes.
