It's actually good friday here - so start of holidays for us 😃

I am working on a project right now, where our G2 class is writing stories for pictures that a G2 class in Thailand added to a Google slideshow. This could easily be done with the new collaborative Book Creator picture as well!

One of our French teachers created <a href="https://read.bookcreator.com/vYW220wuZIZePhdMe3WlIFI8PZ72/e2RsmCdeTlumTXBtfsEyAg">this collaborative class book</a> with her G5 students. She is working on doing a similar project with a class in Vientiane, Laos

Challenge them to App Smash. They may know how one app works but do they can they create something that requires the user to use more than one app?

Challenge them to teach their classmates something new. You could do this in a workshop model. Each student who wants to teach gets a 20 minute session and there are multiple sessions running at a time the rest of the students choose the one that they go to. 

Challenge them to complete an independent inquiry project. They have to write a concept based, open-ended question and spend time researching the possible answers. Even requiring them to collect their own data in some way.

Recently, our 3rd grade  students entered a state wide contest for interactive digital books.  We used Book Creator and won the 1st,3rd,4th,5th,6th,7th,8th,9th,10th places  out of the ten places offered. how exciting for our students to have an audience and be rewarded for some great work!

I like to use Book Creator, Seesaw, PicCollage, and FlipGrid to allow students to extend their learning not just the lesson but extend our learning outside our four walls!

I am a classroom mentor and we support  teachers as they become more comfortable with new tools! More fun with a friend or cohort!!!!

We are heading into our exam time in May and June.  Now is the time where I begin to feel the pressure.  It is also the time I seek after the most creative &amp; engaging ways to teach so content is covered, spirits are high, &amp; we continue to move forward.

Extending learning through hyperdocs, tapping into student interest, bringing content to life,through room transformation, games to add excitement while learning/reviewing

Question 1: Currently, my third graders are working on designing digital posters about the branches of government using Piktochart, and Agile classroom to keep us on track. We are finishing up our stop-frame clay animation movies to go with our written folktales. In addition, we have been learning about other states through our Pen Pal program. And, just started Mystery Skype. Finally, we just finished up some math literature books using Book Creator. (Check them out on Twitter).

Supporting kids with complex needs and their teachers.  Using Book Creator for journalling, procedural 'writing' with pictures and recordings, making observations and predictions about a picture.  Having success with using images from Pobble365 website.

I have a great group of teacher friends on our team. We work together to help keep each other encouraged and moving forward.

The good folks in <a href="https://twitter.com/graetcorg">@GRAETCorg</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/vste">@VSTE</a> are helpful and supportive of educators in the state of Virginia who are using EdTech to enhance learning! Love them!

As my Teacher College Professor said, "In Education we don't call it stealing ideas from one another, we call it SHARING!"

I would love to create a Test Prep Nearpod challenge in the way Tracy Parodi did <a href="https://twitter.com/ParodiVCS/status/970771455028973569">here</a>. I think it's brilliant and I think our kids will respond well.

I tested out the BookCreator app with my 5th grader when she was given the choice of making a pamphlet or a children's book. I remembered that BookCreator allows users to save books as eBooks and thought it was the way to go. It was a great experience for her and I learned a lot! I would love to  help my teachers challenge students to create stories, study guides, research projects, alternative poster projects, etc. with BookCreator.

Our class has been working on the Wonder challenge sponsored by Lionsgate Movies. We've been earning marbles for random acts of kindness.

These are just a few of the apps that we like to use to create projects.

Really any app that is flexible and allows for creation. That allows them to share their understanding of a topic/concept in a variety of ways. But it must connect to G Suite for us in our school and Seesaw as that is our ePortfolio platform.

A5. I have to have Face to Face time and several members of my PLN make this possible.

My students have been connecting with other students from all over the US using FlipGrid these last few months. We've connected with a HS in Missouri to do a Kindness Challenge, we have connected with 3rd graders from all over to share Book Recommendations, we have shared our writing with another 3rd grade class and responded to their writing, etc. It's been amazing!

Our testing begins in May! We are still very much in the thick of things. Still we extend learning with cool explorations using AR and VR to support learning with apps like Nearpod or Quiver. Some of our teachers use Mystery Skype to enhance geography skills. Many of my teachers are using Edmodo to share resources and assign activities that can be accessed at any time.

I use Twitter to share the great things that are happening in our schools. I hope to increase Twitter usage with my teachers with a Twitter Challenge. 

When I was teaching students, I would try to have some kind of Academic Olympics. This gave the students the opportunity to have good, positive competition with one another. Activities would be based around the tools we used in the Computer Lab.

As a PYP (Primary Years Program) school we are currently in the middle of our G5 Exhibition where the students plan and complete their own Unit of Inquiry. I am currently working with a group as a mentor. They are working on making global connections to help them research for their project on the following topics. How humans use animals How habitat destruction affects animals How hunting affects animals

Our Kinder students are completing a unit on How they Express Themselves. Where they are creating Puppet Pals Puppet shows that curate a small exhibition of their own art works. 

Posting individualized plans on Seesaw with hyperlinks to watch videos and tasks associated with them really helps me to reach learners where they are at. Any way that I can bring student choice into the classroom is always going to be a win! Offering students a way to extend their learning in a way that they want will benefit them far greater than anything I can come up with.
