The Constitution of 1917 was the founding document of the new Mexican Nation. It was created by Venustiano Carranza. It had various articles that covered things like human rights, citizenship, and more. The articles reflected the people's experience in the Revolution. It showed what the government in Mexico would look like from there on. After writing this, Carranza became president.

After Carranza's presidency, he was doing good for a while. That is until people noticed he couldn't keep up with the things states in the Constitution of 1917. Other leaders of the revolution didn't support him, such as Emiliano Zapata. He was becoming unpopular among the people of Mexico. During the elections of 1920, he tried to rig it so he could win, but was unsuccessful. Carranza was then thrown out of Mexico. He was assassinated on May 21 1920 in Tlaxcalantongo, Puebla.
