I have never started a poem whose end I knew. Writing poems is discovering.

Robert Frost
About the book
This ebook has been created by 12 - 15-year-old students from Greece, Cyprus, Czech republic and Romania withing an eTwinning project called In the Name of Poetry.

The students worked in international groups. They were supposed to create a poem which reflect a season of the year. They also studied a bit of theory because each of the poem had a different form. They started with haikus, then focused on acrostic poems, later they created diamond shaped poems and finally they wrote poems with traditional stanzas.

For most of our students this has been their first experience with eTwinning international collaboration and writing poetry either - so quite a challenging project acitivity. But they participated actively with enthusiasm and the final outcome is worth reading and listening. Each team was inpired by a photo which is shared next to the text.

Finally...
This little book of poetry is dedicated to all poetry lovers, to those who are not afraid to be creative and to all of the people who have helped our students show their way.

Autumn
Haikus

Haiku is a Japanese poetry form.

It is inspired by nature or some strong experience.
It uses just a few words to describe the moment.
It focuses on reader´s feelings and senses - sight, hearing, touch, smell, or taste.
But is also works with contrast or something surprising.

Haiku is written in three lines:
- the first line has five syllables
- the second line has seven syllables
- the third line has five syllables again
