The Hare and the Tortoise by Angelina Dunn

Once there was a tortoise, and he was very smart and honest, but here was a hare. Hare was very sly and wicked. One day, hare and the tortoise were having a race getting their work done. Hare finished his work first, but the tortoise was taking his time. Tortoise finally finished, but then they got their work back and tortoise had a 100 that said "Great!" Hare's paper said 95 and "Don't Rush." So hare said, "I am so sorry for being so competitive. They were friends ever since.

Moral: Believe in yourself and don't give up.

The Goat and A Fox by Zachary Leonowicz

One day a goat and a fox wanted to play. They each found toys to play with. The goat found a toy plane to play with. The fox found a toy train with sixteen cars and one caboose. They played for an hour and 50 minutes and 30 seconds, which looks like this: 1:50:30
When that was over, they started fighting about a toy spaceship. While their mothers were cooking dinner, they heard their sons fighting. The mothers said, "How about you play outside."
"Okay," the children said. Then they went outside and thought about what to do. Thirty minutes later, they got an idea. They would play tag.
As soon as it was 6:01, they went inside for dinner and saw their mothers at the dinner table. Then they started eating dinner. After that, they went outside for 20 minutes and and then came inside. Then their mothers told them they were having a sleep over at the fox's house.
When the fox left, the goat went to bed because he had school tomorrow. When he woke up, he hadn't heard the clock beep until...BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The clock struck 7:00.
Then the goat stopped it from beeping. When the goat went to school, he learned a lot of stuff. When he got back from school, his mom told him he was going to fox's house for a sleep over. When he got there, he ate lunch and hen played. Then they started fighting and fighting and fighting. Then, their mother's yelled, "STOP!" The goat and the fox got in trouble, so the goat stayed in the room and the fox went to his room.

The Goose and the Flamingo by Lucy Kadlubowski

Flamingo invited goose over. Flamingo was a cow who only was selfish and a fibber. So what he did was he cooked a broccoli, green bean and corn soup. Flamingo got delicious food while goose ate bad food. Flamingo said to goose, "How is your food?"
He left and invited flamingo to his house. Flamingo ate all the food in goose's house, but it made him sick.

Moral: Never try to be mean.

The Mouse Who Wanted to be Eaten by Arielle Jacques

There was a mouse walking through the jungle. She was thinking that the cheetah would eat her. She said, "Hey! Over here! Aren't you going to eat me? You're not strong. You're a coward!"
The cheetah replied, "I'm just not hungry, plus I'm on a diet! No meat for me!" The mouse jumped into the cheetah's mouth. Cheetah spit out mouse and said, "Find another animal to bother!"

Moral: Kindness is stronger than being strong.

The Greyhound and the Poodle by Ava Santaniello

Once in a forest, a mean poodle crept through some brush. He was watching the elegant Miss Greyhound walking with her friends.
"It's just not fair! Miss Greyhound has so many friends!" the poodle thought.
He watched slyly as the pretty greyhound walked by. Mr. Poodle was greedy and once stole a pearl necklace worth one thousand dollars! The clever dog knew why Miss Greyhound had so many friends. She was honest, friendly, and always willing to lend a helping paw. Just then, that witty poodle came up with an idea. A really good idea.
The next night, the selfish dog crept toward Beagle's Bangles and Other Jewelry. Not knowing there was a security camera, he smashed a case full of diamond necklaces and emptied the case. Then he ran outside.
"Help! A thief!" Mr. Poodle called. Citizens rushed out into the night, only to find the poodle holding the bag.
"I caught the thief and the bag, but the thief slipped away, " explained the sneaky Mr. Poodle.
"Do not believe him!" shouted Miss Greyhound. "I saw the video on the security camera. YOU are the thief. You lied!"
"The unhappy dog admitted he had stolen the jewelry. he wanted to show the village he was brave so he could have a friend. He apologized, but Miss Greyhound stopped him before he could go on into the woods. She smiled and said to Mr. Poodle, "All you needed to do was change your actions," she said.
Mr. Poodle did change his actions, and then he got a friend.

Moral: Being mean won't give you any friends.
