Reflection #1:

What Have I Realized About My Own Grit And Effort?

I realize that I put a lot of effort into my learning. I love to learn, and I believe that I spend a lot of time improving on my learning techniques. Even with tough assignments or situations I still do my part to do my best. I noticed that the times I will lose grit is when I am in a group project. I love to rely on myself to finish things and do well, but it can be hard to put in effort when you are worrying if other people are doing their part.

Where Do I Show My Skills Best?

I believe I can show my skills best when I am independently learning. I found that I improved most of my mindset during quarantine. Spending so much time at home helped me realize what type of learner I am.

How Could I Use My Skills More?

I personally think I could use my skills more by:
- putting more effort into group projects
- instead of being disappointed when I get harsh feedback, ask myself why and think of it as a learning experience
- come into the room with energy and try my best

Notes:

- Mindset is like a gym, if you stay on the same treadmill, at the same speed everyday, you aren’t going to get any better at running. If you add speed, than you are growing your muscle.
- no such thing as being “dumb” or “smart” you are always dumb and smart
- challenge yourself to improve
- challenges help you grow
- your mindset can be applied to everything
- you can change mindset
- setbacks help you improve
