Why people came to the Middle Colonies
People came to the Middle Colonies for a few reasons. The first reason is that the for the Dutch to set up trading posts. The second reason in that people’s beliefs were different from the Church Of England, they were then known as Quakers. Quakers were a religious group that could believe in anything they wanted. So that made them a great group who worked together.
What was the geography of the Middle Colonies
In the winter it was nice and breezy. In the summers it was nice and warm. They had deep harbors, valleys, rich soil, rivers, forests, coal, iron, copper, and mountains.
How people made money in the Middle Colonies
They got money by setting up trading posts, by mining, farming, getting fur, getting dairy from cattle, lumberman, and being a merchant.
Cool things about Pennsylvania.
In Pennsylvania people are treated equally, because they were Quakers. If you lived in Pennsylvania then you would have a lot of help. If you lived in a community then people would come and help you build a barn, or get things for you. Pennsylvania was near a lake so it was easy to get across and sell things. There was great soil there so it was a good place to live. It was easer to get around because of William Penn’s design. He made all the streets a grid so it was hard to get lost and easer to get get around places.
My region compared to the others.
The New England Colonies are bad because of they have harsh winters, rocky soil, and people can’t farm. This is why it is not a good place to be because you could get sick from the weather and die.
The Southern Colonies are bad because they have slavery, mosquitoes, hot steamy summers. If you live there than you will probably get headaches because of the heat. If you live there you might become a slave. That is why you should not go to the Southern Colonies.
