Sam and Molly were very excited. It was their first day at Wallop Primary School. As soon as they had eaten their breakfast, they raced upstairs and put on their smart new school uniforms.
When they arrived at the big blue gate Sam felt a nervous feeling in his tummy.
"Don't worry," said Molly grabbing his hand. "My friends told me that the children here are very friendly."
Molly was right. A big boy walked past and gave Sam an enormous smile.
When they got to Kites class their teacher was there to meet them.
They also met Ms Fletcher, the LSA.
Ms Fletcher showed Sam and Molly where to put their bags. They had their own pegs in the cloakroom.
Then they gave Mum a huge hug and joined the other children in the classroom.
Sam and Molly had a fantastic morning. They made lots of friends. Their best friend was called Tim. They played in the classroom and in the special Year R garden. Molly played in the water tray and Sam made a model.
Before they knew it, it was time to go home. They listened to a story and Ms Fletcher helped them to get their coats and bags. Suddenly they saw Mum by the classroom door.
"Bye bye," said Sam.
"See you tomorrow," replied Ms Fletcher.
"I can't wait until tomorrow," whispered Sam to Molly.
"Nor can I," she replied
