One day a lion came to the library. He walked past the circulation desk. Mr McBee told Miss Merriweather but she said to him if he wasn't breaking any rules that he could stay.

The Lion came to the story corner because it was a story hour. The story lady seemed to be upset but she kept reading. After the story hour he still stayed, then he roared. Miss Merriweather marched over to the lion. He sounded sad. 'You can come back tomorrow if you stay quiet', said Miss Merriweather.

The next day lion came a little early, so he walked around the library. The same thing happened the day after, but this time he helped Miss Merriweather. Soon the lion began doing things without being asked.

People got used to him. He never roared in the library anymore. Mr McBee was mad because people said how they ever got along without him. After he helped kids he went to Miss Merriweather's office to see if there was anything else to do. She said that he could bring the books back into the stacks, she only needed to get them from the shelf.

She almost got the books but something bad happened, she fell. The lion went to Mr McBee to call for help, but Mr McBee did not understand and ignored him. Then the lion roared and showed to Miss Merriweather's office with his head. Mr McBee jumped and ran into the Miss Merriweather's office because the lion was breaking the rules.

The lion knew he broke the rules so he left the library. The next morning he did not come to the story hour. Miss Merriweather was sad because the lion did not come.
