GEOGRAPHY

Great for planting cash crops and for getting food for your family. Indigo is a crop that can make YOU so rich like tobacco. The soil here is wonderful to grow stuff like cotton and rice. Cotton helps make clothes for you.

We have mild winters and it is not so cold unlike New England where you have to wear 8 pieces of clothes. The hot steamy summers here drives mosquitoes but they don’t go near you a lot.

ECONOMY

Some people work on small farms and make money by farming tobacco, rice, wheat, Indigo, cotton, fruit trees, and corn. Others people make money by raising cattle for beef and milk.

Other ways to make money is by lumbering, shipping, fishing, and slavery. Lumbering is easy because all you have to do is cut down trees and sell them. Shipping and fishing is easier in Southern colonies compared to New England where there are risks of dying by whaling. Slavery is another way to make money because they do your work and you can sell them for money or trade them for different slaves.

Why Southern colonies are the best!

Don’t go here because it is too cold and you can die by whaling! It has long and very cold winters. Their long and cold winters can get people sick. The puritans are too strict and bossy, they want everyone to go by their rules and cannot disagree with them.

Don’t go because the snowy winters can get you sick and no one wants to get sick. When you live here you can brag to your friends about the indigo and they can only brag about their coal.

I think you should go here because we have mild winters and hot summers. You can make so much money by growing indigo and tobacco. So come and live here now!
