An international teamwork
This book was created within the framework of the Erasmus+ project "Schule macht Nachhaltigkeit - Nachhaltigkeit macht Schule/ A lesson in sustainability: Make your school greener and yourself too" (2020-1-DE03-KA229-077458).
It is part of the students' work during the 2nd short-term exchange of groups of pupils, held at the Geniko Lykeio Paralias from October 3-7, 2022.
The students worked in international teams on a case study and role playing on the environmental crisis and climate change.
This is the result of their work.

This activity took place on Friday, October 7, 2022, the last day of the exchange in Patras, Greece. The students were asked to deal with an extreme weather phenomenon or another incident or problem linked to climate change or human activity and come up with a plan of action.
The game was based on the educational material: Educational games for Climate change, Environmental Education Centre of Eleftherio-Kordelio, Thessaloniki, April 2020. https://www.kpe-thess.gr/en/
The students were divided into international groups. Each group worked on a different case.
The players of each team gather around a large paper given to them. They read an article about the case and discussed whether they have been in a similar incident. Each player got a Role Card and tried to step into the shoes of someone affected by the effect (getting into a role).
In each group, in turn, the players were introduced and marked their role around the paper. They then described what happened to them, how they were affected by the event and how they affected or were affected by another player/role player.
They observed the picture created and formulated their conclusions, discussing what is the problem, what are the causes, why it is consider as an extreme phenomenon, how they themselves are connected, affect or are affected by other members of the community. They then discussed how they could better respond as a community to such an event in the
future and "presented" their proposals to the other teams and the teachers.

Our suggestions
Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. The main reason why climate change exist is because of human activities.
To put an end to climate change we should use public transportation or cycle and electric vehicles. Moreover, people should get informed about the phenomenon and start recycling, reusing, reducing and buy less fast food and more local and sustainable food.
It is also important to reduce fast fashion and appreciate more second hand clothes. Planting trees is a good way to help with the protection of the environment as well. Also, it is important to conserve water, switch to LED's and raise awareness.
Another key thing to remember is that everything associates with your home, so saving energy at home can be efficient. Furthermore, considering your traveling and throwing away less food could help.
