Loon Lake Advance

A fun activity that I did today was the basketball tournament. In this tournament we were paired up with someone of the opposite gender, and of a different grade to play a 3 on 3 game. This was really fun because we got to play basketball and because it put us in teams we wouldn’t have necessarily pick otherwise. This showed our team work because we had to work with others to play the games and, like I said earlier, they weren’t always the people you would have gone with otherwise.

This field study has started giving me a pretty good idea of what to look forward to for future feild studies. I’m looking forward to getting to go to new places and try new things. Something that may be challenging in the future is  travelling to far places with all the covid restrictions. All we can really do about that is hope they lift. I think something that I’d do differently is that I’d try to get more sleep. I feel like I’d enjoy the whole thing more if I wasn’t super tired. I think something that I’d do the same is to try to go into everything with an open mind.

The reason that I’m excited to play basketball is because there will be a lot of people, making it so we could play games.

I think that we will learn how to be better teammates. The reason that I say this is because all the things are done with other people. 

My DI group did a lot of work on the script for our story line. The reason that we focused on the script is because we had our first dress rehearsal coming up. I think the thing that really helped us is fact that we had a dedline coming up. I think that really motivated us to get work done. I think I did a good job at keeping people in my group motivated and helping them stay on task. In the future, I think our group could have done better if we all had things to do. We didn’t have enough stuff to do so we had like 2 or 3 people working on one thing. <br/>

Today we were learning about historical significance. This was work for our humanities project. We had to learn how to tell if something is historically significant by using the NAME chart. Novelty, Applicability, Memory, and Effect.

I took this photo before I even got on the fairy thing. I like this photo because I think that I did a good job of taking, and editing, something that looks good. I do think that I could have done a little less editing. 

One place I found amazingly beautiful so far at Loon Lake is the firest  because I think that it was very peaceful and fun, especially the rope bridge. 

Hi, my name is Jackson. I’m a grade 8 student in North Vancouver. I’m originally from Toronto and only moved a few years ago. I’m really into outdoor spots, like mountain biking and snowboarding, and you’ll hear me reference these a lot. I also play guitar, and I’m in multiple bands. I loved going to this new place and having a great time.

Today we did some of my favourite activities, forest laser tag and battle archery. In both of these activities we had to work on our teamwork and communication skills. We had to work as a team to wipe out the other team in the best way possible. 

Today I learned mostly about the property. I learned where all the places are and where I’m going to be sleeping. I also learned that this is where they do camp Good Times. I learned that it will be important to lean where everything is, especially on future feild studies.
