To process a variety of foods or herbs for medicine, the ancient CHamorus used lusong as grinding mrtars with lommok (hand-held) stone pestles). Some are next to caves were immovable, but some lusong were large, semi-portable boulders found in latte' sites.

The ancestors built their houses with stone foundation called latte', which consisted of a haligi (pillar) and tasa (capital). There were different types of houses: Gu'sahyan tasi (canoe house), guma' urritao (bachelor's house), and a meeting house just to name a few.

The ancient Chamorus believed the world around them was full of spirits, they called them the Taotaomo'na. They showed their respect to the spirits by asking permission even before they could build their houses.

While on open ocean voyages, the ancestors sailed their sakman (boat) throughout the Marianas, the Caroline Islands and elsewhere for trade. They may even have traveled as far as the Philippines, Taiwan. Ryukyu Islands of Japan and beyond. Sakman was made by local navigators using traditional techniques. They were guided by master canoe builders of Micronesia.

They used hotno (oven) to cook their food such as roast pig, barbecue fish and other sea creatures especially on fiestas, weddings, christening and other occasions. Up to this time, Chamorus love to get together with family, relatives, and friends with "Potluck" showcasing their Chamoru delicacies.&nbsp;

The ancient Chamorus were made up of different clans. Each clan had a leader called a chief. They used carved tools made out of limestones or basalt such as sinahi to protect their clan.

Chamorus believed that their ancestors were great artists because they found lots of chisels next to their remains.
