Leaving My Homeland

As my mom packed up all her carry-able I put my teddy bear, my dads photo, and clothes in a suit case, Christina my sister packed all her stuff she could carry and we left to the boat. We are leaving Spain because our mom needs a better job and a better school.

Boat Ride

Mom told us we are 2nd class! As the boat rocked back and forth I was practically asleep my sis looked at photos and mom just watched the waves. I hoped we were almost there already I think sis and mom did too. All I could see are gray clouds above our heads and then I saw it Lady Liberty so tall. We all looked up and gasped. We saw Ellis Island a big building. We have been on this boat for 2 weeks!

Medical Inspection

First she check our eyes then our ears to our hair. It took a long time because we had to wait for everyone else to go first. Mom went to the holding cell cause she had an issue. Christina and me started because she was so dramatic about mom being in there.

When mom finally came out Christina stop and I just stared and then after that we moved on to the Legal Inspection.

Market

We walked in the store to a welcome from the cashiers mom and me smiled and the wonderful shelves of food sat there and I asked mom to buy these strange things they were flat, salty, and they tasted amazing. My mom got water I got juice and Christina got juice too.
