My Skin My skin is brown, yellowish, pinkish white My hair and eyes are coffee brown My skin defines all the colors of me, all the colors of love All skin colors are beautiful from white to black We are all made with one color, the color of love.&nbsp; My skin color will define the girl, young lady and women in me someday, and I will show my skin color with all the passion in me because&nbsp; We are all made with one color, the color of love. Love your skin Color light or dark, we are all specially made, don't ever be ashamed, you're beautiful Because We are all made with one color, the color of love.&nbsp;

&nbsp;&nbsp;Racism affects people by making people scared and&nbsp; worried.&nbsp; People can even hate others&nbsp; and make people sad, just because of our skin sometimes even makes people mean and ungrateful and it is not ok and people do not even notice that&nbsp; and some people&nbsp; do not care.

Racism affects people by making them different from each other, meaning if people look alike their races can be different. Racism affects me because it makes me different from people who aren’t my race, meaning people who look like me doesn’t mean they have the same race as me which means like a country.

Does racism affect people? Yes it does because it's like if you were seen just by how you look or what you do.&nbsp; &nbsp; How does it affect me? It like people we go to see tv and some one who has the same skin tone has me was doing something wrong and then the see me and now the think i am going to act like that is just not fair.

Racism affects people because it makes them sad and like they are not worth anything.&nbsp; It makes me mad because god made us all the same with bones and blood just different skin which doesn't matter. You are born to be racist racism is something you choose to do.

Racist comes in many forms that can affect someone deeply. Being racial is affecting children and youth in our country and around the world every day. People are saying they&nbsp;are better than another person, which I don’t think is true at all. Action like these builded&nbsp;up tension in our country, which leads to crime and bitterness. People are becoming victims because of racial behavior.&nbsp;That is why we have to stand up for what is right, and let our voice be heard as one. Everyone is special in their own way and they deserve to be treated equally. We are all human beings and the colour of our skin doesn't matter . We should help each other, not bring&nbsp;down each other because of what a person does or where they are from. When you are being bullied because of your race, you feel scared and unsafe in your community.&nbsp;This is why being racist can hurt a person for a lifetime. &nbsp;I’m really feeling sad for what is going on right now . I don’t want to grow up seeing innocent&nbsp;people getting hurt because others think they are different.&nbsp;It hurts so much to see what a next human being&nbsp;can do to another ,because of skin colour . No one is defference because we all bleed the same blood, or if you think you better, you just lie to yourself.&nbsp;Hurting someone feeling or taking a person's life doesn’t make you a better person. This needs to stop. We don’t need violence,we need peace, so that people of different races and cultures can be proud of who they are and not be judged by someone who claims they are better.&nbsp; LET US SHOW LOVE TO EACH OTHER

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;People with dark skin get unequal treatment than people with lighter skin. The whole sentence is a longer way of describing the word racism. Racism means that people get unequal treatment just because of the color of their skin. The point that people need to understand is that those with different skin colors, let's say black people, have people think that, in a sense, they are not a part of humanity. This shouldn’t be a problem or any matter of topic because we are who we are. God gave us life and made each of us different from one another. People with dark skin should not feel different from anyone else. It’s ok to be different from the crowd. Those who are darker than others are still human beings just like everybody else. They should not be treated like they're nothing. We are all equal no matter what race or color we are because we are all human beings and we should always have love for one another instead of being against each other.&nbsp;

"Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin This quote is related to the “Say Something” video because it means the same thing. People should say something when they see things that are wrong happening to other people.&nbsp; People should help other people when they need help.&nbsp;&nbsp; Black and Brown people are treated differently, abused and killed like we are seeing on TV.&nbsp; This quote means black and brown people will not get white people to treat them better until white people really feel how bad it is to be treated bad.

The thing I really learned to Appreciate during the quarantine is family. I normally don't get to spend time with them. Now that the quarantine is keeping us inside all day long I can have fun with my family. It's really really fun. Sometimes we play board games and they let me play on the computer I used to do my school work and sometimes I say stuff funny really and believing it might happen. you never know.&nbsp; I also get to go to my auntie Debra's house for a while.&nbsp; So I learned to appreciate during the quarantine is my family because they always have my back you know.

What I learned during quarantine is to love your family and no matter what. The TV almost billions of people are dying from COVID-19 and they’re losing their families which is really sad because family is everything to you they make you happy and make you smile they make you do everything family is like a gift and you love them that you can just lose. So my mom cut my hair. It's short but if my mom died then I wouldn't have somebody&nbsp; to cut my hair professionally. That is why you should always care about your families no matter what because tomorrow might be late. And you’ll probably cry&nbsp; that you might not even sleep.

In quartine i started to appreciate my mom.She is buying food for us taking care of us.She the one who goes outisde to buy what we need.She helps me with my homework.She takes us in the grocerry store but she made sure we had gloves and mask it was fun helping her and going too.My mom let me go outside and play.I appreciate my mom a lot and her birthdays on may 23rd so me and my brothers are doing something awsome for her birthday.

George struggled and pleaded for his life:”&nbsp; Icent he drew his final breaths, calling for his mother.&nbsp; Today, at 3:45 pm Eastern time/12:45 pm Pacific time, we will be silent for 8 minutes, 46 seconds-Minneapolis gathers for his final memorial&nbsp; service. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;My uncle sent us a video of looting in Fordham Rd and people were looting from stores and destroying property.&nbsp; They were stealing from stores, cell phone stores, breaking windows of banks, stealing jewelry.&nbsp; I don’t think it’s right that they did that because that’s not the way to protest.&nbsp; The way to honor George Floyd is to have a peaceful protest until and not disrespect the police.&nbsp; There are bad cops and good cops.&nbsp; I also saw on the news a cop had pushed a man in his 70’s to the ground and didn’t help him at all.&nbsp; He cracked his head and was bleeding.&nbsp; I felt so bad for him.&nbsp; He didn’t do anything to the cop to deserve getting pushed to the ground like that.&nbsp; Where I live they tried to break into a store on Beach Ave.&nbsp; They also tried to burn CVS at Westchester Ave. a few blocks from where I live.&nbsp; I was scared and my mom couldn’t sleep trying to make sure everything was good throughout the night.&nbsp; She said she kept hearing police sirens throughout the night.

Dear Diary, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The year of 2020 just started and there is this virus&nbsp; called coronavirus also known as Covid-19. This virus is infecting and killing thousands of people. People are getting told to stay home and focus on social distancing. Adults and kids are working from home. Sport games, schools and jobs are closed. Most people arent working at home, some people like first responders have to go to work to keep everyone safe. I feel sorry for the people that need money but can't go to work. But president trump is giving everyone a check of money, so i think that was a good decision.

There are a lot of things I like about being home.&nbsp; I get to use my phone more like going on Tik Toc, playing Roblox and staying up late talking to friends. Tik Tic is a video app where you can make your own song and dance video.&nbsp; Some people even get famous off of Tik Tok.&nbsp; I like to make dance videos. I share my videos with my sister and best friends. When I go onTik ztok and see other videos it gives me ideas to make my own video. I like to make videos using hip hop and rap music.&nbsp; I wait to read my likes and comments.&nbsp; I now have 231 followers. I like to play Roblox with my sister.&nbsp; It is a game where you can dress up your avatar, you can add friends and play different types of games.&nbsp; My favorites are Piggy, tower of hell, bloxburg, fashion famous and adopt me.&nbsp; Playing the game is what keeps me up late at night with my friends.&nbsp; I get away with staying up late when my grandfather and grandmother start to fall asleep and they are not paying attention to what I am doing.&nbsp;

What I’ve learned and appreciate about being on quarantine is that, I get to see my family more, when we were in school, you see your parents a little while in the morning and a little while after school, then next thing you know it's bath, dinner, and bedtime. Seeing my family more means a lot&nbsp; because my mom works alot and my dad works in the night, I also help with my little brother with his school work like his sight words. I also help him in the morning, I teach him the correct way to brush his teeth, even though my parents check him after I'm finished. Also I miss seeing my grandmother, we don't get to see her that much, if we do we only pass by her window to say hi, my mom says she doesn't want to take us as much because we can't afford to get grandma sick, but I really miss going to her house and spending time with her, she makes the best farina, and she gives us yummy snacks, but I’ll wait until we can go again because I don't want her to get sick. In quarantine it's been a little hard, we can't go to the park and we cant see our friends, I just hope that they are all ok, I also miss going to school, even though I complained when there was school, but I appreciate it now because I learned that when things are taken from you, you will miss it. My parents make me and my brother feel comfortable. Soon I will learn how to bake, I asked my mom and she said she doesn't mind. Maybe I can be a famous baker, even though I want to be in the FBI. I just hope things get back to normal, I really would like to go to the pool and my parents do big BBQ’s with our friends and families and we won't be able to this year. My mom taught me how to pray and I do every night for everyone, but mostly for us to have our normal lives again, I also miss going to my church, I really like it, it's fun and we do activities there too.&nbsp; Anyways I hope that all my teachers and friends are doing good, and they are staying healthy and safe. Hopefully one of these days we will wake up to some good news.&nbsp;

We should all be proud of the color of our skin. If anyone says “my race is better than yours”, I Don't care. We are our own individuals. We are leaders not followers. Stand up cause black lives matter. We are all humans. This is why we should love our race.&nbsp; ♫My skin is as dark like caramel and caramel is sweet so I am as sweet as I can be sometimes ♫We should all love our skin white, black, and mixed, we all are the same, together, we look like a lion's mane. I am black like caramel. It's so sweet you might want some more. We all love each other so don't be mean and poor. So we love our skin. We become true and after that you might see the real color of you♫

If you think about it, all people are the same, just their language and color are different. So we should appreciate how we look, and how others look. They may not ße fancy, ßut they all are the same as you and me. Let’s appreciate our colors, and other people’s&nbsp; colors, because we are all the same.

My skin is light, light brown ,like caramel&nbsp; and caramel,it tastes so sweet just try it ,you’ll tell. So brown is sweet , and sweet. Sweet as l can be, I love my skin , love my brown skin. Light brown , that’s the color of me .

I was watching the news and seeing how people are upset about how police treat some people.&nbsp; It is not fair. &nbsp; I see a lot of people that are white, spanish and black marching everyday protesting how bad black people get treated.&nbsp; Black Lives Matter means black people are not different than white people.&nbsp; Black people have to be treated the same.&nbsp; My family is also black.&nbsp; I am sometimes scared people in my family with dark skin can get hurt by police when they go out.

Black live matter. It is a protest that they do because the police they killing black people on purpose and not being charged for the “Accidents”. The reason I put quotes around the word accident is because ITS NOT AN ACCIDENT. If it was an accident why did it happen MORE THAN ONCE?!?!?!&nbsp;

It made me feel mad.

Dear journal, Today is another day of being homeschooled. I really miss my teachers but I know I can't see them until doctors find a cure or a shot for this virus. I'm continuing to do my work and trying hard to pass to 5th grade.

Dear Diary, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Today was a really good day because I received the package my brother bought for my sister and I.&nbsp;It’s a double steering wheel one in blue and the other one is red. He got it for my Nintendo switch game.&nbsp;After I did my homework and did some reading, my sister and I played for a little while.&nbsp;It was really fun playing with my sister.&nbsp;My mom, my sister and I played Uno because my mom said she used to love playing it with my&nbsp;grandpa. She loved playing with him because it was their time to be together and bond.&nbsp;I really enjoyed playing Uno with her even though it was my first time playing.&nbsp;There are times that I miss going outside, but my mom says we can’t go out.&nbsp;I like looking out the window because I get to see P.S. 47, people walking by with their masks and gloves on and I can see that things are different now.&nbsp;I see the trains going by, cars and you see them with their masks and gloves on. The restaurants are closed and the stores that are open, there are people waiting in line to go into a store to buy what they need. I just hope everything goes back to the way it was before the Coronavirus.&nbsp;I miss Ms. Jones, Ms. Elin and my classmates and everybody that I knew.&nbsp;I miss going to the gym and going to the playground with my class.&nbsp;I miss seeing my brothers and family.&nbsp;My parents bought my sister and I arts and crafts stuff to keep us busy and it’s something to do with my mom. I was happy because my mom made pork chops, white rice and macaroni salad.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Dear Diary, I love staying with my grandfather because he is the best and he helps me when i need help with things even with homework. I love him so much that he gets me a lot of things. I wish more people could have a grandfather like I have. So&nbsp; they can have the same things i have too. I&nbsp; love my grandfather to the end of my heart and i hope he knows that.

Racism affects other people so much that they are getting arrested and protesting and getting hurt for justice and peace.racism affects me because im black and people are not over racism. This is like the movie family reunion. The police arrested three black kids because the police said that they were breaking into a house that they own and live in.that is how it affects me.

racism and race is about what race you are like black and white. racism is like your race is better than mine but that’s not true. Some people think it is true but it is not because when you take off your skin we all look alike without your skin. all races do look fine but now they're talking about when someone says my race is better than yours! Is racist and wrong. The kid who talks about your race it make you feel small.

I think The quote means If you see somebody getting hurt you don’t do anything you are also to blame for that person getting hurt. And I also think that the rabbit didn’t do anything because she didn’t know what was happening. so it’s actually not the rabbits fault it’s all of the other creatures because they don’t like any of the other creatures. And they don’t like him because the squirrels take up too much room in the trees. And the frogs don’t really talk to anybody. And the other creatures don’t like the birds because they are too noisy. Also the white rabbits do you like the porcupines because they had a bad attitude. And then the bad things came back and the White rabbits didn’t have anybody to help them so now they know how it feels.

Today we are going to continue working on our living history project.  I would like you to write about day to day events, your fears or your feelings about life in quarantine.  I have asked your parents to keep your work in a safe place so you can put them all together to keep for generations to come.  

My life in quarantine Has been the worst time,&nbsp; We can’t go outside All because of Covid 19. There’s no vaccine We can’t go to school, the park&nbsp; or go out at all. The only thing we could do is look out the window. I see the stores, restaurants, and schools closed. It’s scary to be going through this my&nbsp; parents pray that we don’t get sick or hurt, because they are afraid to take us to the hospital. I miss my school, teachers, my classmates, and seeing everyone else in the school. I see Covid19 as the most dangerous virus ever many people have died.&nbsp;&nbsp; It has kept families from seeing each other,&nbsp; from visiting their loved ones in the hospital or being by their side&nbsp; as they’re dying. I will always remember this as the worst time in my life. It changed our lives in a good way because we get to spend time&nbsp; with each other a lot more at home. In another way, it’s bad&nbsp; Because we can’t go outside at all. At least we were able to go to School and do things with my family. My parents are the only ones&nbsp; That go out to buy what we&nbsp; Need, they disinfect everything and then put it away. They are constantly reminding us to wash our hands. My mom is constantly disinfecting everything in the apartment.&nbsp; I hate Covid 19 because my grandfather passed away because of it. So that’s my life in quarantine..

Terrible things relates to the quote because the big rabbit did not care for anyone and most of the animals got tooken. The big rabbit soon was taken after all he said about the other animals. “Small rabbit hid and after the terrible thing was gone he peered out and said it would have gone better if we stayed together”. The rabbit soon left and told other animals about the terrible thing. This relates to the quote because the big rabbit did not care for anyone and let the terrible things happen to the other animals. So what I mean is the big rabbit was so selfish he did not care and let the other animals get taken. Stay together at all times

The quote and story are similar because the quote said “those who fall to stand up to injustice of any type allow it to happen” so the little rabbit was the only one who could ask anyone for help and the other animals allowed the terrible thing to happen and they were taken by the terrible thing. Each time the terrible thing came he asked for&nbsp; different&nbsp; animals each time. Each time he comes he takes different&nbsp; category of animals each time.

This quote "Those who fail to stand up to injustice of any type allow it to happen." Relates to the story because every single animal was taken except for the little rabbit but they didn’t stand up for the other animals. They just talked bad about them and those terrible things always came back because they didn’t stand up and they allowed it to happen . That’s how that quote reacts to the story because they never stood up .

Racism affects people because when one says for example, my country is richer than yours it can make people bad. So don’t do it at all. Now here is how it affects me. It just has that part where my heart gets crushed. I think that everyone should accept who they are and should not do this. So that's how it hurts me.

How does racism effect people? Racism affects people by making them do crazy things. Also it makes people upset and angry because they are only doing this to us because we are black. And because White people are afraid of Black people. How does it effect you? It makes me mad to see that a lot of black people are dying and sad. And I don’t like that cops just show up out of no where and you’re not in a car and you’re just walking and then they be mean to you. And I don’t like it because it makes a lot of people sad.

Racism affects people like the story said.&nbsp; People want to believe they can be better than other people.&nbsp; Racism can make people feel bad about themself if other people always tell them they are better than them because of their race.&nbsp; People can’t pick what race they are going to be before they are born. I come from a family with many different races.&nbsp; Sometimes people will ask me why my grandfather is darker than me.&nbsp; They ask me why my eyes are a different color.&nbsp; One of my brothers is darker than me because we have different fathers.&nbsp; I have step brothers and sisters that are black.&nbsp; I still call them my brother and sisters and some people look at us and do not understand.&nbsp; It is wrong when people look at each other and think if they could like someone because of their race.

well a lot of colored people are being treated bad like that man who couldn't breathe because the police had his leg on his neck and the death of George Floyd has effected a lot of people so there really mad and the there reaction by looting stores burning police car isn't the solution it's not helping anyone. so done

Why All Should Love The Color Of Their Own Skin&nbsp; Everyone should love the color of their skin because we all are beautiful in our own ways. Just like painting a portrait , we choose defferent&nbsp; colors, because we think it will look beautiful that way. Well that is how&nbsp; god chooses our skin colors so that the world can look beautiful too. I’m brown and I love my skin color and I also feel comfortable in my skin, so we all should be proud of our skin color. Skin color does not matter, we are all human beings. Judging someone of their skin color means you are judging yourself also, so before doing so think wise. Let us show love and respect for each other.&nbsp; That is the beauty of us all.

4/27/20 Interview My mom is use to being home she not much of an outside person Mom says its sad to see how things are going because of the virus everyone is worried and confused, its like theres no more freedom, even though she loves spending time with her children there is more to life then just being home all day, its sad that we can only go out to get food and stuff to clean and disinfect, my mom feels everyone is only thinking about themselves and not thinking about the next person, also not much is being done to stop the virus.&nbsp;

4/27/20 Interview I interviewed my mom. So she said at the beginning of the quarantine she felt a little stressed out because we were going to stay at home for so much time but then she thought of there was no other option but stay at home because we couldn’t go outside and enjoy a little time at home since every single day we wake up and got to school and not get there late. Also just hope that the spread of the coronavirus will end sooner or later but soon.

Black lives matter means to not harm black people.They want to be treated nice and not mean. The black people don't want to be judged because of their colour. They just want to live in a world with no racism. Future kids shouldn't experience any racism,judgement,or hate.

Black lives matter because people should not discriminate against others because of their skin color.it matter because whites people hit black people for no reason just because of their skin color MLK JR said white peoples can’t discriminate black people&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

What I appreciate about quarantine is kids do not have school. &nbsp; But we still have to do remote learning every single day. Also it is&nbsp; boring at home&nbsp; there is nothing to do in my house. Something I sleep after remote learning after sleeping for one hour then I watch on Disney+ , Hulu , and Netflix. The next day it’s all the same.

I really learned to appreciate having selther. I learned to appreciate that because of what’s going on right now. If I did not have selther I would have been in trouble. I used to want to go outside all the time but now we have to stay inside and that’s why I appreciate having selther now. What about you?

Something that I learned to appreciate during quarantine&nbsp; was not going outside anymore because I know it's for my own good and I know I have to stay safe. For example i know that interacting with other people is not right at this time because nobody wants this virus that is taking away people's lives. Also it's not ok to&nbsp; touch stuff that other people touched because who knows where people put there hands.

This is one person that I've learned to appreciate and she is my mom.I appreciate her because I love her. She takes care of me and makes me very happy.She makes me laugh and smile .She&nbsp; makes me food.In conclusion I just love her so much.

In a society, there are many types of race and cultures that live in harmony. But in some cases some people don’t care about others because of their appearance, and treat them differently, since they stand out. This is all described in only one word which is injustice. They do not realize that they need each other for survival until it’s too late. For example, in the video of the Book the Terrible Things, the Big Rabbit didn’t care when the birds were taken away by the terrible things. He said to the little rabbit “At least we don’t have to hear them chriping ever again”. As the terrible things continue to happen, Big Rabbit keeps thinking and saying negative things about the animals being taken away to the little rabbit. People say all these hatred and being negative about others don't realize that karma is a real thing, like being taken away by terrible things. In the end, this is why older people should teach younger people to not hate other people but love them because in some way or the other we will always depend on them. As the big rabbit&nbsp; didn’t have anyone to save him from the terrible things, this is what happened when we were saying all those bad things. If he had cared in the beginning, they all could survive the terrible things. After all that Little Rabbit was the only remaining so for this not to happen to him he left his own home to survive on his own.&nbsp;

It relates to the quote by talking on the topic about how people are caring about what’s happening in the world right now. Some people are being disrespectful to the situation by not supporting and fighting for the justice people who have been hurt deserve. People who are okay with racism or even letting people get hurt are the ones who allow it to happen since they don’t defend other rights.

One Thing Get I To Do During Quarantine That Make Me Happy One of the most important&nbsp;thing that I get to do during quarantine is being at home with my family. This&nbsp;makes me really happy to be with them during this difficult time . Why? My family means everything to me. In this difficult&nbsp;time we need each other more than anything because that's&nbsp;what family is supposed to do is support each other and try to focus on the positives around you during this pandemic . During Quarantine I play my favorite games like Roblox because I have my cousins and friends they can talk with me and play with me.I’m happy that their ok.I miss my friends and cousins because I can’t see them. They’re ok so I don’t have to worry.

What I do is basically spend time with my family. I like watching movies. We all garden in our backyard. We also do school at home like our parents are the teachers&nbsp; and me and my two sisters are the students .We play games everyday like nonstop. And we love to help our mom cook so we also cook sometimes with her. We also talk to our family relatives .We have challenges and pranks we do to each other. That's how my days past and i can't forget i sleep nonstop almost.

Being in the house for months is boring, but something I learned to appreciate&nbsp; is that we can stay home and still have fun and learn many things.. I know it is boring but I am still a little happy that I can stay home.&nbsp; The reason why is that I don’t have to get up so early, fresh up and eat, and then go to school even though I still miss this routine. Now I can sleep when I want to and wake up when I want to. Plus the good thing is that I can do homework/schoolwork in a more comfortable and relaxing way on my own time. After that, I can do whatever I want like relax, play games, eat, watch movies, sleep more and spend quality time with my family, which I would never have experienced if quarantine wasn’t a thing. Life has a lot of bad and good things that can happen but for now let’s stay safe.Quarantine is pretty annoying and nuts but at least it’s for a reason. Something that I learned that I have to Appreciate during quarantine is that if I have to stay home is for my safety until quarantine is over. Another thing that I learnedThat I had to appreciate work is more important then anything else. So I have to do my work then I finish doing whatever I want.

I appreciate having warm breakfast made for me everyday. I appreciate seeing my grandfather and my dog Gia everyday. I appreciate getting more help with my work than I got in school.&nbsp; I appreciate that my mother does not have to get up so early to get us to school.

Interview I interviewed my brother and he said:”Personally,I am glad to be safe but it is kind of boring constantly being in my house without being able to go outside.I just hope that this can be over soon”.I also interviewed my mom and she said:”I feel anxious because at the beginning it was okay but after being so long in this house now I feel different emotions.It also affected the way that we sleep because it makes you adopt a new sleeping pattern.I miss going outside and interacting with others.”This is what my brother and mom say about quarantine.

How does Racism affect people: Racism is very disrespectful to all of us especially people with dark skin. Racism can affect all different types of ways, but the main thing to always remember is that no matter what skin color you have or race you are, that doesn’t mean anything, we are all humans. For example, if we decide to take all of our skin and hair, we all have bones, “Hard Bones”. We share the same things like bones, skin, hands, feet, legs, and if you are born without a body part that everyone has to be afraid to be different from the crowd because you are still a human. That is the same thing with different skin colors we have. It doesn’t matter if you are a different race because those who say they are better, just based on their color, are considered fake and racist. We should all get along with one another and be one whole community and not let who we are stop that from happening. How does Racism affect me To me, it is very rude for a person to say something mean things or even hurt those who stand out of the crowd. This scares and makes those people feel bad feel bad about what their skin color is. It hurts my heart that there are people that don’t have a heart for others and just judge them from first appearances. I always wonder why can’t people see we are all human beings. My birthday is next month and I will be 11 years old.Im hoping by then all this is done and over.anyway until tomorrow i have to go help my mom...which i don't mind sometimes it's fun.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected&nbsp; are as outraged as those who are.&nbsp; In the quotation it is used to describe the way the individual feels. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The protesters came together to protest peacefully, others were destroying stores, banks, cell phones stores, and setting a police van on fire to get justice for George Floyd.&nbsp; People were upset at the cop who killed George Floyd by kneeling on his neck and back.&nbsp; He didn’t get off him even though he said he couldn’t breathe.&nbsp; There were three other cops there with him and only one kept telling him they should turn him over to his side, but the cop didn’t listen.&nbsp; Some cops were hurt because people were angry and wanted justice.&nbsp; We as a community need to come together and fight for the injustice we face today.&nbsp; I felt bad for George Floyd because he didn’t have to die.&nbsp; Now his family has to be sad because he was murdered by a cop.&nbsp; George Floyd had to see how he died because of the cop because it’s on video on the internet. The good thing that happened was they arrested the four cops and charged them for his death.&nbsp;

Dear Diary, This quarantine life is going to drive me insane.&nbsp; The reason why is because I miss my teachers, and my fellow students, and all the rest of the activities in school. The worst part is that WE CAN’T GO OUTSIDE. This annoys me because I can’t run, and can't stretch my legs. Beside all of that, my life is going well so far. Sometimes I play with my dad, watch movies, draw, exercise, and more. So this is basically my life in quarantine.

People still think that they could be mean to black people.It breaks my heart to see that I just want everyone to be friends but people keep treating them bad.So I say we stop this black people are humans! 4/27/20 Interview My Life On Quarantine &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I interviewed my mother and she says that it’s been really hard to deal with the quarantine.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;One reason, she says this is because her father passed away and she wasn’t there to be with him, to give tender love and care.&nbsp; She would go to visit her father a lot and then go to the cemetery to visit her mom’s grave and decorate it with flowers and pictures of her mom and her sister. She would visit her aunt too, and decorate her grave.&nbsp; It makes her feel good honoring them and saying a prayer for them in Heaven.&nbsp; As she leaves the cemetery she prays for all the deceased to rest in peace.&nbsp; She’s really hurting because she feels her father died alone with nobody to hold his hand until it was his time to go with her mother, sister and her loved ones in Heaven.&nbsp; It was especially hard to take the news that he was dying, because he was fine before the no visitors allowed in the nursing homes.&nbsp; We didn’t have a funeral for him, and we couldn’t be right at the gravesite when he was getting buried.&nbsp; She’s gone to the cemetery three times since, but says a prayer on the sidewalk because it’s closed until further notice. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Second reason, she says that after her father passed away she really felt like not doing anything, but just grieved for her father.&nbsp; She needed time to just deal with the pain of losing her father because it was so unexpected she had plans for Father's day and his birthday.&nbsp; She didn’t have the energy to help us with our homeschooling.&nbsp; She has me and my twin sister which is special needs and it wasn’t easy.&nbsp; She would listen to Christian music and just cry.&nbsp; She says that visiting her father and the cemetery would make her day!!&nbsp; She would do things like cook and clean for us, you know everything a mother does for her children.&nbsp; She says that life as she knew it before the quarantine is gone.&nbsp; When she goes out shopping or runs errands she is constantly making sure she is with the face mask and gloves.&nbsp; She takes extra gloves to keep disposing of them before going in and out of the car.&nbsp; When she comes home she disinfects everything she buys and then lets us grab what we want to eat or drink.&nbsp; When she sees people she knows she throws them a kiss because you can’t kiss and hug people or be close to them.&nbsp; You have to make a line to go shopping or do laundry, so now it takes longer to get things done.&nbsp; She fears us getting sick because of the way things are in the hospitals. She’s having to teach us too and with my sister she has to take her time with her. Now you can’t have people visit our house or us visit them.&nbsp; She feels trapped in a house and in fear of her, us or our families dying from the Covid19. She feels bad because we haven’t been outside since the shutdown.&nbsp; We live on the third floor, so it’s not like we can go to the backyard and play.&nbsp; She says it’s hard being cooped up in the house for so long, because we can't go to the park, movies or eat at restaurants.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In conclusion, that’s why my mom says life in quarantine is hard.

Being quarantined in my house has become fun because I get a lot of more time with my family. I get to have fun and play with my little brother. I get to play on my phone when it's the weekends and when I'm fully finished with homeschooling. It's also fun being quarantined in my house because me and my family play a lot of board games. I get to paint my little disney character sculptures. And the last thing is that me and my family get to make things and do a lot of arts and crafts.

George floyed was saying I Can’t Breathe!&nbsp; Nobody helped like they were supposed to. How come when it comes to the color of a person’s skin they’re treated differently.George floyd was murdered on May 31, 2020 is life should’ve never been ended. And his name should be heard to the world because people should not have to protest for something that has also happened a bunch of years back. The cop that murdered George Floyd thought George Floyd had a fake check. All the cop was doing is he was trying to protect the other people instead of not taking the knee of George floyd. What I learned from that quote and that video is that if you have something to say then say it so people can hear you and get justice from whatever problem. it can be about “stop hurting pets “ or end racism” . It can be anything but just talk if you think that problem has to come out . My skin is like a deep deep brown, it's like a walnut tree and trees grow up big and strong. You really must agree. So brown&nbsp; is strong and I am strong, strong as I can be. I love my skin love my brown skin. Deep brown is the color of me.

Why should we&nbsp; love the color of their own skin and everyone else's skin? You may ask why and that is what&nbsp; I am going to talk about today. We need to love our skin tone because it is who we are. We need to be treated the same. We can't let our skin tone tell people things about use. But we need to be us and not let people tell us what to do. 

You should love your skin because it is beautiful and gorgeous and no one can judge your skin even when it is lighter or darker .You should like other people's skin&nbsp;because that would not be fair . Their skin is beautiful and gorgeous like your skin. Even if it is lighter or darker you should love other people's skin.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Some people are white. Some people may fight. On what they think is right. Misunderstanding black people. Some people are black. And some people say they lack. But they mean good. And they have a mood of sadness too. From all the people who misunderstand them.

Fight for what you believe because you do not know what is going to happen and always say something that you think is wrong always help somebody. never give up…. Not saying anything about inequality does not help everyone around up.

Those who fail to speak up could have done a lot. People will never know what can happen if you speak up to what you believe. You may not know but most people that speak up were most likely scared to speak up but did big things and small things to help. But also never think that people will never hate you for what you believe. But speaking up&nbsp; happens with time so i hope one day you will speak up.&nbsp;

4/27/20 Interview Hi it is jada and for today’s living history project I interviewed my grandpa and grandma, they were in quarantine also like we were my started quarantine when she felt sick she didn’t know what it was so she went to the doctor and the doc took an x ray and then that when she found out that she had pneumonia and we were all shocked and for my grandpa he had this bad cough and they actually started quarantine before us and when I asked them how they felt about quarantine they said they feel bored in the house and how they hate quarantine well we do to and that were all there feeling about quarantine&nbsp;

&nbsp;As we experience the world’s behavior complaining about black people and their actions and what they do and judging the color of their skin and just because the color of their skins doesn’t make them disgusting, and weird.You are being rude and disrespectful. They are there own culture and deal with it because you can’t just get rid of them they are beautiful the way you are , Black people.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

In this world there are two kinds of people. There are white people and black people. But some people don’t understand that no matter what your skin color is, we are all still human beings. It’s ok being different from others because you are you. God made all of us different so we can be unique in our own ways. Being “One” means that we can all come together and we will always be there for each other when things get hard, even though we are different, but that should never get in the way of friendship with others.

I think racist people should know better, we are in 2020 and we have come a long way for all of this stuff to be happening. Sometimes I get worried because my dad is dark skinned and I have brothers and sisters that are dark skinned and I wouldn't want for them to be treated poorly and unfairly just because of their skin color. Also what would our future look like if this were to continue happening, will my brother and I have a fair chance in life? It makes the world worse because we are already going through alot with the coronavirus, now we have to deal with this. I’m so happy that my parents teach us the correct way of being with other people, they tell me and my brother, everyone is equal and no one is better than no one. It makes me sad to think or talk about this, because until the news about George Floyd and my parents explaining to me what all this meant, made me realize that there are grown ups that have to really come to their senses, being a racist or not liking anyone only because of the color of your skin or where your from is ridiculous in my opinion. I hope that one day all this can go away, all of our lives matter, each and every one of us, we have a lot to offer this world , small or big, we can all make a difference. I hope that I never experience racism, and I hope that my parents will be ok and especially my little brother, I shouldn't have to worry about this, when there's so much more going on in this world. Dear P.S. 47 family, In this time we are living in, we are a part of history. It will be talked about for generations to come. Over the past weeks, we have created a primary source document. Each assignment required the students to do something to record events, fears and feelings related to this time period. Fear and uncertainty have been heightened with the wide-scale contagious disease outbreak of coronavirus. We have been living a life in quarantine. School has been taking place remotely, almost everything has been closed and some of us have lost loved ones. This has never before happened in our lifetimes. At the same time, the barbaric murders of Black people have again risen to national attention, although this has been a relentless and centuries long outrage in the U.S., in this moment we are grieving the murder of George Floyd and the senseless deaths of so many other black people. People around the country are rising up in anger in response to the taking of these precious lives. We must be part of the work to change this racist, violent and brutal system. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Those who fail to stand up to injustice of any kind allow it to happen &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The book titled The Terrible Things relates to the quote, “Those who fail to stand up to injustice of any kind allow it to happen.”&nbsp; I say this because in the story we see that the animals were taken each time and the other animals (frogs, fish, porcupines, squirrels, rabbits) didn’t stand up to the terrible things to try and stop them from taking the birds. The Terrible things kept coming back for the specific kind of animals they wanted and would carry them away.&nbsp; The animals were quick to say each time that they didn’t have what the Terrible things wanted so they wouldn’t be carried away.&nbsp; The only animal that was safe was the little rabbit because he hid when the Terrible things came to take the big rabbit away.&nbsp; Little rabbit felt bad for not saying anything.&nbsp; He was all alone without the birds, frogs, fish, porcupines, squirrels and big rabbit. In the Terrible Things the animals symbolise the people in our community that we turn our backs on in times of struggle or fear. If you want things to change you have to stand up and be heard.&nbsp; This story allows people to understand the dangers of racism and not standing up for what they know is right in order to make the world a better place to live.&nbsp; The Terrible things help people to do what is right in order to prevent another disaster like this from ever happening again.

Something that I do during the quarantine is playing Uno. How does it make me happy because I get to spend time with my family and I don't believe I have to get mad it helps me take my anger out when I left out and I feel alone I sometimes I don't watch TV and I have to I most likely play games So I can help me get my&nbsp; anger out I play certain online games to meet new people this&nbsp; quarantine has affected a lot of people I just check on them and make sure they are okay most likely this is how I feel about 20 and it makes me happy a lot because I don't have to get angry about&nbsp; bullies and I don't have to fight them in real life. a lot of this stuff makes other people happy&nbsp; so it makes me happy but in a way I want to be it feels amazing to be away from school but not that type of way so we're not meeting people is not a good thing it's just you don't get to make new friends or anything but good part about it is you get to spend time with your family get to do everything you even get to work online these are the good parts about quarantine and I don't like&nbsp; staying at home but it's kind of fun once you get to spend time with your family&nbsp; because you're not aloneThis is why you have family to spend time with you I play Roblox with my brother at the avakin life with my brother it will be fun and you don't have to do the stuff I do but just do whatever makes you happy listen to your heart.

4/27/20 Interview Today I am going to interview my dad about what and how feels about quarantine life: Me:How do you feel about being home for two months? My dad:I feel great to stay home with my family and try to keep safe from the virus. Me:How do you feel about the virus? My dad: I feel terrified about the sickness, because this is the first of a lifetime I experienced a disease being so dangerous that you can’t even go outside anymore. Me:How are you dealing with quarantine?&nbsp; My dad:I help my kids with their homework, which is so much fun and blessful time with my family. I'm enjoying myself at home but still feel so sad for those who pass from the virus and for their families for the person who passed. I pray for the virus to end very soon and for everyone’s lives to get back to normal.

4/27/20 Interview&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I interviewed my grandfather about quarantine. He said the things he does not like is that he can’t see his family, he can’t go shopping, he is tired of watching tv, his granddaughter stays up too late.&nbsp; He also does not like wearing a mask and having to keep washing your hands. He doesn't like having to stand on line to go into the store. There is no news on when this will end.

Dear diary,&nbsp; Today is the first day of May. And so far we don't know when quarantine is over. Quarantine is so boring because we can't go outside. And I kind of want to go to school because I want to see my teachers and friends. And Ramadan is so hard because the day is so long and all i can do is do my online work and watch netflix and disney +.

Quarantine is good. Because spending time with family is a happy mood. Also because we can save more materials for school. And play in the cool. Quarantine is bad. I think the quote means the people who did the crime need to do the time in jail. The people that did the crime need to be punished so the people affected can have justice and peace. The people that were affected need justice,the way they can get justice is by speaking up. When alot of people speak up their voices can be heard.

Racism is something that you are not born with.racism is taught.this is something that has been going on for many years and it's sad.my skin is white but my race has african spaniard and taino indian.so when people treat other because of the skin it makes me sad.we are all humans and we all have the same blood.its sad that people don't understand that in very race their are good and bad people.we can all make a difference we can stand together and show people that&nbsp; not every brown or dark person are bad.

My name is Serious. I am mad because a police officer killed a black man. The police officer killed him because he was black. That could’ve been my dad because he’s black too. They have been doing this for years because they don’t like black people. They don’t like black people because they are afraid of us! It scares me too because I’m black. I want white people to stop being racist to black people and stop killing us!

The story is relatable to the quote because when the other animals got taken away no one helped. The Animals did not help when the others got taken away they just sat there and watched. If the animals helped they probably could have all stayed safe. Big rabbit was saying bad things about the other animals when they got taken away. All the animals did not stand up for each other so everyone got taken away. The animals keep saying we don't have wings or can swim&nbsp; so they don't get taken away.

They ignored the “terrible things” but then the “terrible things” came for them one by one.The terrible things took the birds, next the squirrels, then frogs, and the fish, then last the bunnies.They ignored the “terrible things” until no one was left.”The terrible things” took all the bunnies except for one small bunny.The small bunny hid under a big rock.”The terrible things” thought the bunny was a rock.The small bunny was going to warn others about “the terrible things.” He stood up when nobody did.

Speak out when witnessing something wrong,because you will regret it later by not saying something the same time. It’s never easy&nbsp; to say something at the same time, when you see something wrong, but if we stand up for what is right now, it will make a difference tomorrow. We don’t have to agree with everything, but we all have a part to play, to change what is happening around us. We need courage to say something, because it’s not always easy to stand up for what is right. This can be done by saying something in a kind way and let your voice be heard. In this way no one will not be hurt anymore because kindness will win.

The fact of what is happening today is to get the attention of society to clearly see that Black lives matter,because they are not paying attention that black lives matter.&nbsp; Black lives matter because they are human beings just like all of us .&nbsp; They breathe the same air, just like us.They color of our skin doesn't matter, skin color doesn’t make a difference of who&nbsp; we are. Everyone&nbsp; should&nbsp; be treated&nbsp; equally because&nbsp; we are one people, we bleed the same blood. Why are we being racist if we are all human beings?I just don’t get it. We need these racist thinking to change and most of all, we the people need to make this change.&nbsp; It really hurts to see what’s going on in our community and around the world. We need to protect each other, don’t make our skin color define who we are, at the end we are all one.&nbsp;

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I feel people should love the color of their skin and everyone else’s skin because that’s what makes us unique.Why would they want to treat people bad just because of their skin color and that is not fair.&nbsp; People should not judge people because of the color of their skin color, because that’s what makes us beautiful and different.&nbsp; I know people that wish they were white or they go to the tanning salon to get a little darker.&nbsp; God made us all a little light skin or dark skin and we should be happy.&nbsp; We shouldn’t put people down, beat them or kill them because of the color of their skin.&nbsp; We should just come together and love ourselves and each other. We should respect and be kind to one another.&nbsp; We need to come together as one, I think if we did that the world would be a better place.&nbsp; If people don’t change their&nbsp; ways we will always have trouble in the world and that’s sad.&nbsp; I love all my friends regardless of their skin color, race or nationality. 

People should love what skin color they have and they should love other people's skin color as well. You should love your skin color no matter what it is because you have only one skin color and you should appericate that, because that is a gift from God that you can never get back. Another thing is that you should always love other people’s skin as well and not just yours because it helps us all get along and stop all the racism that goes around in our world everyday. If we agree to do these things the community and our world will be a better place. Loving your skin color means that you don’t care what people think about you because you show how proud you are of being yourself and accepting it.

The Color of Me

&nbsp;What I learned to appreciate during quarantine &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What I learned to appreciate during quarantine is spending time with my family.&nbsp; It feels good to be with them because I feel safe.&nbsp; If I were going to school during this pandemic I would be scared to get it even with the mask and gloves.&nbsp; I don’t think I would be able to concentrate in school because I would be worried all the time.&nbsp; I like that I have all day to do my homework because I’m not under pressure to hand in homework at a certain time.&nbsp; After doing my homework I take a break and play Playstation4 and Nintendo Switch with my brother, nephew and friends.&nbsp; My mom, sister and I listen to music, dance and act silly!&nbsp; We play the Uno game and it’s really so much fun.&nbsp; I appreciate being home during quarantine because it makes me appreciate what my parents do for me, my siblings,family, and friends. I feel more relaxed because we get to sleep a little more and are not woken up early like when we were going to school. I enjoy doing arts and crafts with my family.&nbsp; My parents took us to Ferry Point Park last weekend. It was different going to the park because it was the first time going outside with a mask and gloves. My parents were making sure we kept our mask and gloves on.&nbsp; All the parks I used to go to were closed.&nbsp; It felt good to finally be outside after being home for so long.&nbsp; We were able to play wiffle ball, soccer and run around.&nbsp; Even though we are in quarantine i’m so happy we have the laptops because we could still send messages to our teachers, friends and the Mr. Guarnieri and Mr. Peay.&nbsp; I’m that the Board of Ed supplied us with the laptops so we can continue to do our remote learning at home and not be behind.

Dear Diary, Today I feel good, my mom stood home today from work, so we get to spend some time together. My dad bought breakfast from McDonald’s and it was so good. Later on we are going to call my grandma and see if she’s ok and if she needs anything, my mom always cooks extra to bring her and she does things for her that she can't do by herself anymore. The days are getting better, I just wonder if we are going to have a fun summer, I don't really like to go outside because the the mask, I don't want to wear one anymore, it's uncomfortable, but I hope it changes by the summer, also I hope my friends are ok and having fun with their families. I’m almost done with my school work, but I will read a little and just hang out with my little brother. I hope the world gets better soon.&nbsp;

I know it seems like we are doing the same thing again, however, our feelings change on a daily basis and that is why we keep a journal. Today, you can write a journal entry, draw a picture, take a picture, it's your choice.

Based on the book” Terrible Things”the little rabbit ran and hopped into a pile of leaves instead of helping the other rabbits and watched them get taken away. If the rabbit did not run, the white rabbits would have been together in the forest.

The story, the Terrible Things, relates to this quote because the animals would not do anything when the terrible thing would come into the forest and take each group away.&nbsp; The animals said as long as it wasnt coming after them they didn’t care. When only the rabbits were the last ones left they thought the terrible thing would not come after them because they were the favorite.&nbsp; The terrible thing came after them too.
