Similes Of Worldview - This Poem is pretty straightforward. You take aspects of your worldview and compare them to things with the same descriptive adjective. Simple.

Personification - This one was pretty odd. We were tasked with creating a poem that gave human characteristics to our worldview. So, we pretty much imagined our worldview as a human.

Congratulations! You made it to the end of my book! I hope you enjoyed the collection of poems that I have written and put into this book. As you can tell, this book was mainly about worldview, so it was refreshing to have a review on aspects of my worldview. I quite enjoyed writing these poems and I hope you liked reading them as much as I liked writing them.

Dribbling the ball Up and down the B-Ball court He shoots...and he misses

Self Portrait - This one was pretty fun to write. I thought up some things about me, and I fit them together to create a solid rhyme scheme. The poem itself is pretty scrambled. There’s not really a main point, just some obscure facts about me. This kind of reflects on ma as human as well because I myself am pretty weird and random.

Sound Poem - For this one, I just focused on some sound that are commonly heard on the basketball court. Basketball has always been a sport I enjoyed, even though I’m not very good. It was the noisiest place I could think of on the spot that hadn’t been used already.

Haikus - The inspiration for these Haikus were prominent parts of my everyday life, basketball, playing the oboe, And of course, homework. I just thought up some quick lines and made sure that they fitted the criteria, 5-7-5.

Found Poem - I had originally used the lyrics of the song “Californiacation” by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but then I realized that the lyrics rhymed already, so it didn’t count. After that, I grabbed a book off of my shelf and connected some sentences and phrases to create my end product.

Imagery - So, growing up, I lived in a pretty nice neighbourhood in West Vancouver. Although, to me as a boy, it seemed live the most crime ridden alleyway in Canada, so I just based it off of that. To be clear, I was just focusing on the negatives of the street that I lived on. There were several positives as well, I just didn’t focus on those.

Piano has been a big part of my life, so I decided to dedicate a poem to it. The poem was about my first recital, hence why I talked about how nervous I was. My worldview It tells me what I should say. It beckons me to do what I do. It moves like the branch of a maple tree, dancing in the wind. Vibrant and spontaneous, vigorous and spirited. With a voice as sweet as an angel’s, with beauty on the inside, not on the outside. It possesses strong opinions, but a smooth tone. It can remain the same for years, but can change as fast as Vancouver weather. Worldview, as unique as a snowflake, and as vital as the air around us.

Extended Metaphor - This poem was pretty simple to write. It was pretty much a big simile. I thought up some complicated things and picked one that was original.

I sat in the crowd, Anxiously waiting for my name. Then, it was my time. The applause thundered in the hall. I stood up and walked to the piano, my palms sweating like crazy. I bent down to bow, and I sat in the seat. All of my practice came to mind. I put my fingers to the keys and played. My fingers flew in a flurry of fear and exhilaration. My hands began to sweat, but that did not throw me off. I pounded on the keys as the audience watched. I smashed the final chord, and it was met by the roar of the crowd. I bent over once more, and returned to my seat

The way I see it, my worldview is like a water slide. With enough twists and turns to excite you, But not too many to frighten you. My worldview is very complex. Like a water slide, it has many different paths, But they all connect together to create my worldview. My worldview is complex, but not confusing, Exciting, but not frightening. My worldview is like a signature waterslide. Exciting, thrilling, and unique.

I am as complicated as modern art, With a voice as piercing as a dart. Although I listen to rock, I play Mozart’s Music, I can be quite peaceful, but I can soon become toxic. I quite enjoy playing basketball, but I play like I’ve been drinking alcohol. I like experiencing chills and thrills, but when I scream, it’s really quite shrill. I dress like I’m confidential, But I act like a millennial. I like eating sushi, but I hate fish, Which is as ironic as a doctor becoming feverish. I can play piano and oboe quite well, But in sports, I play like I’m slipping on eggshells. I’ve got Inch-long hair as black as night, Although I like scary stories, they give me a fright. I’ve been told that I’m mentally maniacal, Because I’m always so skeptical. Although I’ve been told that I’m rich, Would a rich person wear clothes that are all badly stitched?

Experience Poem - I’ve been playing the piano for as long as I can remember. Piano has been a big part of my life, so I decided to dedicate a poem to it. The poem was about my first recital, hence why I talked about how nervous I was. 

I walked along the dirty sidewalk. I could hear the crackle of the dusty road against my shoes. How the light whine of the dogs quickly turned into a sonorous snarl. Aggressively angry arguing escalates into dissident drunken disputes. I caught a whiff of the pungent odour of the fresh trash on the sidewalk, The sharp taste of soy sauce still resounding in my mouth. The melodious tunes coming from my earbuds were drowned out by the wail of the sirens in the distance. The dirty, drab buildings surrounded me as I picked up the pace. Soon the rusty street sign came into view. West 46th Avenue
