Learning Advance 2022

I am excited to play laser tag because its something that I like to do. I used to play laser tag all the time at my house. I would play with my buddies, and with my neighbours.

I think I’m going to learn more about BC’s environment. With the forest walks, and the numerous outdoor activities we’ll be doing.

This activity was really cool. My team and I built a Lean-to/ A- Frame style shelter. I learned that shelter is one of the most important aspects of surviving in the wild. 

Today we did laser tag and Battle Archery. I would say that my favorite activity was laser tag. In these activities, we used our communication skills, and our critical thinking skills. The use of these skills helped us to better attack the enemy and win the game.

Mr Harris thought it would be a good idea to jump at the same time. Unfortunately, the picture didn’t show us mid air, do it looks kinda weird. My face looks really weird in this picture.

The core competency in this activity was collaboration and communication. Those skills were key in developing strategies that would help us in winning. I also did a bit of quick thinking in these activites. For example, in the laser tag my gun wasn’t reloading, so I had to find a way to fix it. 

During the advance, we began to build our script. We collaborated and used the “yes and” formula. I feel like some people in our group could’ve helped more in creating the script. Unfortunately, we currently only have 1/3 of our script done, so I’ll have to work lots on the weekend. I think our team is struggling with collaborating and getting along. Some of us have no work ethic, and aren’t contributing at all.

One place I found amazingly beautiful so far at Loon Lake is the pan abode because it has lots of character.

We used the critical thinking competency in this activity. I showed my strengths in completing the workbook. I showed that I’m able to think quickly and effective. On certain questions I struggled to answer them, however as was able to organize my thoughts and answer the questions. Ask more questions and talk to my peers. 

It tells me that on each field study we focus on specific competencies. Im really looking forward to the California trip next year. I guess the change of scenery would be difficult. I would be more careful and make sure to stay with a group of people at all times. I would keep the same attitude.
