The narrow, long courtyard was dominated by a water well called "đeram". The upper part of the well was usually made of locally grown oak trees.
The mills were run by cattle, so they were larger buildings with a circular floor plan and a conical roof.

The courtyards are fenced towards the street with a wooden fence (taraba) with small gates for pedestrians and large ones for cars.
Outside the settlement there are special farms with residential buildings and housing for livestock.
