Function:

The function of muscles is contractibility. They are responsible for movement.
Threats:
- Injuries
- Overuse
- Sprains/Strains
- Cramps
A muscle strain can cause little tears in the muscle fibers. They can cause soreness, stiffness, weakness, or swelling. They can heal over the course of a few weeks. A muscle cramp occurs when an involuntary movement happens. The muscle will tighten and sometimes they can tighten too much.
Interesting Facts:
The muscular system includes over 600 muscles.
The largest muscle in the body is the gluteus maximus.
