My Worldview in Poetry

A game against the clock, The rules were explained but what am I doing, People yelling hurry, hurry, hurry, Will we make it out alive? Rolling dice, Making moves, Who rolled black? Who rolled gold? The gong sounds, Rush back to the start, Lost another die! Have we made any progress? More chaos and confusion, Less sanity in the room, The dice rolling ever faster, We’re getting closer but is it too late? The door slams, The game has ended, And we have lost. Who wants to try again?

My brother’s like a bear, All grumpy and loud, With way too much hair, There’s enough to fill a cloud. My mom is like a hawk, With eyes everywhere, My dad likes to talk, And shouts “Ref that’s unfair”. My family is as good as gold, I’ll love them dearly till I’m old.

Worldview is a series of beliefs about how people see life and the universe. It can be seen by an individual or a group. Our worldview is how we make sense of the world. The seven main parts of a worldview are geography, time, beliefs, values, society, economy, and knowledge. It’s also important to know that worldview is constantly evolving, it is not a static thing.

The batter steps up to the plate, Whoosh, WHACK, thud thud thud, “He’s OUT” calls the ump.

Worldview - who are you?, You’re a human of all different skins, On a planet that’s as blue as the sky, I hear peace, war, Debate and love.

You’re a child, a teen, an adult, an elder, Trouble is caused, People unite, All for this thing, That’s entwined through our lives.

Your opinions are strong, So varied in thought, Sometimes divisive, But often understanding, You evolve each and every day.

One year old: chubby cheeks and messy face “Me do it” I’m as independent as a bear Two years old: white ski suit and toddler sled “Yay I’m winning” I’m as competitive as an Olympian Three years old: magnet letters on a chalkboard “I can read” I’m as studious as an owl Four years old: black leotard and dance shoes “Tap, tap, thump” I’m as graceful as a baby elephant Five years old: backpack on and starting school “Do you want a play date?” I’m as outgoing as an actress Six years old: soccer jersey and baseball cleats “This is fun” I’m as excited as a puppy Seven years old: on stage in a lead role “I am the Queen of Sarcasm” I’m as confident as a fighter pilot Eight years old: with a business in the sun “Lemonade one dollar” I’m as savvy as a executive

Nine years old: camping with the Girl Guides “Let’s explore this trail” I’m as curious as a monkey named George Ten years old: learning to flip and twist “I’ve got a new skill” I’m as flexible as a contortionist Eleven years old: on a surprise trip to Paris “Wow this is incredible” I’m as fascinated as a new born Twelve years old: on a baseball team with the boys “I’ve got this” I’m as bold as the impact font Almost thirteen years old: The youngest kid in high school “Hey join the group chat” I’m as happy as I can be

Friends are important They will always have your back But some turn on you

We’re all born equal But not treated equally A change is needed

Aisles are covered in pink There’s a bow on every shoe This is so unfair

The people here are upside down, This floor is soft and bouncy, Big crashes on the mat from people, But please do not worry, I taste the chalk in the air, I see the fear on the beam, I hear the pounding from a run, I hear the music of a routine, There are coffee stains on the beam, The mats are not clean, My snack at break tastes oh so good, It gives me strength to tumble.
