Gardaland is an amusement park located in Verona. It opened on 19th July 1975. It is adjacent to Lake Garda, but does not actually face the water. The theme park alone measures 200,000 m2. Sporting both traditional attractions and entertainment shows, it attracts nearly 3 million visitors every year. Since October 2006, the park has been owned by the British company Merlin Entertainments. In June 2005, Gardaland was ranked fifth in the top ten amusement parks in the world with the best turnover by Forbes Magazine. Major attractions at the park include Mammut, Jungle Rapids, Fuga Da Atlantide, Shaman, Magic House, Blue Tornado, Ramses: Il Risveglio, Raptor and Oblivion: The Black Hole. it has about 200 permanent and 1,500 seasonal employees.

Chapter 2
My typical day as a Gardaland employee: I was assigned to the attraction called Magic House. In the morning I went to the rides site and with my colleagues we verified that it worked correctly, we did some cleaning and we opened the turnstiles to let in the first guests. There were four workstations: the elevator, the entrance, the exit and the direction. We change workstation every hour. In the elevator I had to accommodate guests inside. While the elevator went down there was a wizard that told a story. When we arrived there was an operator in the entrance who welcomed the guests and took them inside the mad house. The guests had to sit down on benches and the two employees checked that no one got hurt while the guards went down. The manager in the direction started the show. It lasted about 2 minutes and it consinsted of an optical illusion that made you believe you were upside down. When the show ended, the operator in the exit let the guests out. At work I always had to wear my uniform which consisted of a green polo shirt and blue trousers.
