My Beautiful Butterfly Life

When we get our wings and learn to fly, our favorite spot to rest is on flowers.

This is because we're taking the pollen from them to go and spread around. That's another story for another book.

Now it's your turn to draw the butterfly lifecycle.

At first, I looked a little bit like this.

I don't remember being that hairy though.

Eventually, I wove myself up in silk. This stage of my life was called a cocoon.

I don't remember how long I stayed like this but a lot of my friends were in their cocoons between 5 and 21 days! 

I just walked from leaf to leaf and ate as much as I wanted.

I wasn't always this beautiful. It took me, my friends, my family, and everyone else I know, about a month to grow these wings and get these gorgeous colors.

Once we've grown big and strong, we push our way out of the cocoon and into the world.
