8th grades students prepared a project corner and displayed their studies to school students.

Flour in other languages, drawings, nutritional value, recipes, products by Class 6.

They searched and collected proverbs and riddles about flour, millers and flour production.

&nbsp; They even created their own windmills!

Class 6 cooked Christmas cookies at school kitchen with their English teacher. They were delicious!

Flour game with Class 6 pupils. Overcoming many obstacles, using a spoon full with flour, students had to fill a bowl on the other edge of the court. The first won the prize: they were allowed to sprinkle flour to the opponents!

In Portuguese classes, our 7th grade students from classes C and D wrote poetry related to flour using our mother tongue.

They created beautiful posters.

Flour Day Cyprus &nbsp; Teachers and students at Dimotiko Scholeio Tseriou 1 celebrated the Flour Day with various activities. First of all, they thought of all those flour products that eat every day, understanding flour´s importance in human diet.

They studied information about the nutritional value of flour and they searched for products that give flour. Τhey realized that there are many different types of flour coming from grains, nuts, even vegetables. 

Class 6 visited a baker where they learned a lot about the different types of flour, flour products, their nutritional value and the profession of baker.

Class 6 made a study about the “Prosforo”. It is the offering of the Divine Liturgy, from which Christ will emerge and become the Body of Christ, for Holy Communion and must be prepared at home by a housewife and must be wheat. Students designed the stamp which is used for the “Prosforo”.

In Turkish cuisine flour has a very important place.

Before Christmas, Class 5 went to a park of the village, set up a work table and cooked delicious "Loukoumades". Loukoumades are little bite-sized fluffy dough balls, which are deep fried to golden and crispy perfection and served soaked in hot honey syrup, sprinkled with cinnamon. People passing by, loved them!

Through videos and photos, they virtually visited a traditional watermill of the countryside and learned how difficult was for the miller the production of flour in the older times. 

Our 6th graders from classes A and D went on a field trip to an ancient and traditional watermill where they learned how maize flour was produced in the past. &nbsp;

Class 4 brought at school flour products, made a study on them, talked about the ingredients and their nutritional value and in the end they ate them!

In History classes, 6th grade students from class A carried out some research related to flour power throughout the centuries. In Science classes, the same students did some research related to the types of flour.

Students of grade 5 visited a cottage where they learned about the production of traditional bread using wheat flour.&nbsp; They even made their own small breads called ´Koulouria´, baked in the wood fired oven and they enjoyed the delicious final products!

Pupils of Class 2 studied wheat and products made from it. Later they made some drawings.&nbsp;

Students of Class 6 played a game with flour. Divided in two teams, lined up in a row, they passed the flour from one another with their spoons, trying not to drop it and at the end filled a bowl. 5th grade students studied on types of flours.They gained lots of new information and shared with their class mates.

Our 5th, 6th and 8th graders with special needs attended two workshops where they learned how to make bread and bacon stuffed bread.
