To complete our topic on Africa we did some traditional African weaving. We used paper initially as we learnt the technique of weaving. Once we had mastered this we moved onto using wool and weaving looms. Take a look at our fantastic African patterns. 

On Sports Day we had so much fun. The weather was lovely and sunny, and though our grown ups couldn't be there to see us, we all tried our very best. We took part in several different activities, racing as fast as we could to complete them before the other classes.

In DT we have been learning all about how to stay healthy. We have learnt about the eatwell plate and the different food types we need to eat in order to healthy. We have also talked about staying healthy in other ways such as staying healthy and active, getting enough sleep, and taking care of our emotional wellbeing too. We decided to make some healthy fruit kebabs for a special healthy treat for after our sports day. We tasted lots of different fruits first and then decided which ones we wanted to use on our fruit kebabs.

We are Olympians

We have been learning all about the Olympics which were due to be held in 2020, however postponed until this summer (2021) due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We have been finding out about the history of the Olympic games and how they have changed and developed over the year to include new sports, new countries and a wide range of people, including the Para-Olympics.

We have been finding all about the host city Tokyo. We have looked at Tokyo on a world map and know it is part of the continent of Asia.

We have also found out all about key landmarks in Tokyo.

We have been learning all about Olympic sports, past and present and thinking about which sports we would enjoy taking part in. Perhaps we have some future Olympians in our class!
