Parental Feedback
This book is made up of comments and feedback from parents of children at Forefield during the spring 2021 lockdown.

We are incredibly proud of how hard our children, parents and teachers have worked to make remote learning a success.
As a family, we enjoyed and embraced home-schooling during the 1st national lockdown, I had no work, so I could put all my efforts into their learning.

This lockdown has been very different; I caught Covid, so **** didn't join in for the first three weeks and then juggled work (new world of working online) and home-schooling. The nation's mood seems different, and understandably every family will have experienced their struggles throughout this time. The weather hasn't been its best, so they have spent less time outside, but we have still managed to get out when we can visit the beach, and Moor Park, our favourite destinations.

The last two / three weeks **** has been able to join in more and complete most tasks, and she enjoys the Zoom sessions. As a family, we are forever grateful for the Zoom sessions and structure that has been available to follow as it has kept **** occupied and supported her learning and development. Seeing her friends and yourself, Mrs Evans on Zoom has helped her feel engaged in school life.

I think the school has provided an excellent resource in catering to our children's needs whilst we are all going through this strange experience.

**** and I will now continue to embrace home-schooling again and make the most of our time together, as a family we learn alongside her, which gives us great insight into her development.

National lockdowns haven't been all bad as it allowed many people to stop and take stock of life, realised what's important and gave many people new or renewed value, appreciation, and perspective. As a family, we believe that society better understands and appreciates the value of a teacher and the lessons they teach our children which ingrain who they will be as adults.

Eternally grateful for all the support from Forefield Nursey.

I wanted to send our thanks for the remote learning opportunities that have been provided for our children. In such a short space of time, you have provided a varied, interesting and well thought out schedule of remote learning.

The way this has been organised on Teams has been very accessible and we are very grateful for the hard work and expertise of your teachers.

The variety within the curriculum - with lessons on Art, English, Maths and History (and they are just the ones we have done today) has been excellent. The videos have provided that personal touch that is so beneficial.

Our children have done some excellent work today and the formatting has supporting them to work, to feel like they can work, and to feel encouraged to keep going.

I was quite disgusted with Gavin Williamson's tone in the House of Commons. I will be contacting Ofsted to tell them what a great job you are all doing despite the lateness and incoherence of his decisions and messaging.

Well done to you guys. The lessons are great although I would be lost without google!

Forefield has been amazing during the last year and so much more organised than other schools.

I feel the sessions have been brilliant and very well thought out. I have enjoyed joining in with **** and watching him do the activities, you all deserve a round of applause for all the effort you have put into the sessions. You are all a very dedicated team and care so much about the children you look after.

Things I will take away from the experience...

The quality time that the lockdown has allowed us to spend with our children, which without the pandemic many of us would be in work and have that missed opportunity. Especially with the children being so young, it is time ordinarily we would never get back.
The home learning experience has allowed the parents through Mrs Evans help and support to teach our children new things and in return it has taught us as parents new things too (I have learned/and my daughter has learned how to say hello, happy new year, and goodbye in chinese today, yay go us)!. I missed out so much after I had my daughter and had to go back to work, I am so thankful in the lockdown I taught her how to write the numbers 1, 7 and 8 all by herself haha. I have also thoroughly enjoyed learning about chinese new year and all about the different animals for each year.
The daily zoom sessions/emails to Mrs Evans has really helped us to bond with the teaching staff and get to know them better. It has also provided me with an awful lot of reassurance as this is my first child, and the first time she has gone to a nursery, to know she is in the best of hands and is getting looked after by such lovely staff.
The lockdown has gave me a really appreciation of how hard everyone works in the school, the teachers, teaching staff and children! Mrs Evans is like wonder woman having to juggle looking after all the children in nursery as well as four zoom sessions each day... She and Mrs McWilliam and Mrs Harvey all deserve a medal šŸ„‰.
Though the lockdown we have all had our own challenges to deal with and with that in mind I have really appreciated how sympathetic, understanding and flexible Mrs Evans has been if we have not been able to ever attend any of the zoom sesssions. It has really taken a huge amount of pressure off which has been greatly appreciated šŸ˜Š.
The home learning has also given me new ideas as a parent of challenges/things to do with our children we would not ordinarily do and to try and think outside the box.
The lockdown has really highlighted how wonderful all the children are and how hard they all work!
