Judi Chamberlin

As Judi Chamberlin was let through, out to the light, out of the darkness of the hospital, she had a marvelous idea to clear the darkness. She would spend the rest of her life working to make hospitals better for patients with mental and emotional disabilities.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1960, and she was the only child in her family, and she went to Midwood High School. She grew up in a Jewish family as an only child. Judi Chamberlin suffered from depression, a condition that often made her feel sad and with no energy.

In her 20’s, Judi Chamberlin lost a baby and she suffered because of immense sadness due to her loss. Due to her family’s concerns, she was sent to a hospital to recover, but when in the hospital, she saw the horrible treatment of other patients who were also suffering from mental illnesses. She knew that, after she left the hospital, she had to do something.

Judi Chamberlin advocated strongly for mentally sick patients’ civil rights, she fought for the better treatment of mentally ill patients in hospitals. Judi Chamberlin helped make patients with mental illnesses lives better, which ultimately led to better recovery for them in hospitals now.

Judi Chamberlin should be remembered as a fighter for the civil rights of patients with mental illnesses, as someone who fought and put the effort, in making sure that hospitals were not doing the wrong thing, and made sure they were taking care of their patients well. As, in a way, a hero for those long mistreated in hospitals.

Emmanuel Hansel
Basketball Player

Eammanuel Hansel, the basketball prospect, could beat you in one on one even with just one arm. He’s a top-5 basketball player in his high school class.

Emmanuel Hansel was born in the Dominican Republic in 2004. He lost his arm at 6 years old when a building collapsed and he was trapped under the heavy material. When he started playing baseball, he found it too hard, so he switched the basketball. He started getting really good at basketball.

He moved to the US in 2018 when he was 16 to chase his dream. Now, he’s one of the best players in high school sports, and he only has one arm.

He has changed people’s perspectives on how they see disabilities, especially in sports. People who haven’t seen him play doubt his abilities, but when they see him play, they are amazed by his talent and skills. Because he puts in a lot of work, he has been able to get to where he’s at.

He moved to Kissimmee, Florida, and attended life Christian Academy. Right now, people are seeing him going to college because he does not stop working hard.

In conclusion, Emmanuel Hansel overcame what people without disabilities thought he would be able to do. He’s the only player in his class with one arm, but he still manages to be one of the best. His success is a lesson to young people, disabled and not, that to succeed you need to work harder than everybody else.

Albert Einstein

Physicist

As a child, Albert Einstein loved the concept of the invisible forces of the universe. Albert became famous for his great discoveries, ideas, and concepts. Known for his intelligence being reflected throughout his life, Albert Einstein was an astonishing physicist that we all know of today.

He was born to middle-class Jewish parents in Ulm, Germany on March 14, 1879. Albert’s teachers said he was disorganized, forgetful, intelligent, and inattentive. Einstein loved mathematics and science, but he disliked the rules of writing and had problems with spelling which suggested he had dyslexia. Unfortunately for Einstein dyslexia and ADHD were not things people knew about. It wasn’t until the 1980s (almost 100 years later) the diagnosis of ADHD became well known.

Even with these challenges, Einstein went on to do amazing things. Einstein made many discoveries that have helped the knowledge of science become what it is today. Einstein as a child was very curious and wondrous. He had two “wonders” as a child; one being about a compass and the other about the invisible force of the needle. These led him to have many curiosities about the invisible forces of the world. And a huge influence in his life was a medical student called Max Talmud, who introduced him to bigger ideas of mathematics and philosophy. With this influence in his life, he was able to be known for his theory of relativity, which had helped how we view space, time, gravity, and the universe.

For all of his hard work, Einstein was given the Nobel Prize award for being a physicist. With this recognition there were also problems that Einstein started to face, the rising of the Nazis in Germany affected how his work and his ideas were being seen, being called “Jewish physics” causing even his life to be in danger.

Even though his ideas at the time were very looked down upon, his concepts still have helped how things are viewed in the world of science today. Einstein was extremely intelligent, and even with his disabilities, it did not change his discoveries or findings. He left the world with a huge impact, on April 18, 1955, in Princeton, NJ.

Ludwig Damasus von Beethoven

People told Beethoven that he couldn't be a musician because he was deaf, but do you think he listened to them? No way! He would go on to be one of the greatest musicians in history.

Beethoven was one of the best composers of his time (a composer is someone who writes music) being recognized around the world for his extravagant compositions. Beethoven was born on December 17, 1770, in Germany in a city called Bonn. His father and his grandfather were composers, which likely made him want to become a composer too. In the year 1795, he made his first public concert in Vienna as a composer, at the age of 7 years, and he published his first work at the age of 24.

Beethoven began to lose his hearing in the year 1824. He would eventually become completely deaf, that did not stop him from creating the best musical works known throughout the world, and Beethoven continue to make music using the hearing aids available at the time in order to continue composing his works.

Today the world of history remembers him as one of the best composers in history, and his 30 symphonies.
