As we walked through the door I saw a cat, and only one thing went through my head, “Cute cat!” The cat jumped. The cat was huge. My parents and the lady looked at me. The lady said “My name is Missy.” She said we should sit down on the couch with her, but I played with the cat.. her fur tickled so soft and fluffy. She had a little pink nose. Her soft skin jiggled under her belly. Her tail flicked to one side and then to another. Loading...

My parents called me to the couch. The cat kept looking at me. Missy told me the cat’s name was Ruby. I said “Cute name.” Then she said, “ We have two dogs and Ruby hates the dogs.” All of us start walking to the door. In a sad voice she says, “I am looking for a new owner for this cat.” Right away I knew what was going on. I was so surprised! I almost cried because I knew my dad didn’t want a cat. I knew this was hard for him.
