Learning Advance 2022

The images of Loon lake look like summer camp! We will also be doing work but some fun adventurous activities would definitely enhance my learning advance experience.

I have heard that we are going to be doing Destination Imagination, forest laser tag and maybe even an escape room! I hope to be a good problem solver and to communicate well with my teamates so we can celebrate our accomplishments.

I learnt how to photoshop an action shot into a scenic shot using SuperimposeX!

This activity was a ball catching game, where you made eye contact with the person you were going to throw the ball at. If the throw was terrible than the thrower would be eliminated from the game, and same thing if the person didn’t catch the ball. I got eliminated because my throw was over the person’s head, but the person could have definitely jumped and caught it. The core competency I used in this activity was collaborating; we were all trying to achieve our goal of having good throws and good 1 hand catches. I was very good at catching the ball, but when you are in a tightly arranged circle, it’s hard for your throw to be to the person you are aiming at.

Ms. Willemse gave different instructions to the improv teams then to all of the other teams because improv teams don’t have a budget or team choice elements and don’t have to build anything hands on. Our time with our full DI team is super valuable, and I like beeing very productive with our time, so when some team members were distracted or off topic, I didn’t really know how to constructively force them to veer back on topic. The core competency I used during this activity was Critical and Reflective Thinking, to explain facts and skit ideas to my team as well as analyzing others ideas, to reach conclusions.

Gwenyth is a grade 8 PLP learner that pushes herself to achieve her life goals and academic goals. When she’s not in school or doing homework, she’s probably doing a sport ( hockey, tennis, swimming, skiing), on a dog walk, or hanging out with friends.
