Porfirio Diaz was born a mestizo and was very poor. Since he was poor he was still able to go to school, but his family was religious. So he began going to a catholic school at the age of 15. He also never fully finished his education.

After joining diaz leaves the school and joins the military to pursue his future.

Before joining the military Diaz actually studied law with liberal Benito Juarez and continued to form ideas with his new friend. They continue to study law, but he doesn't finish his degree in law.
