The Adventures Of Scout

On a hot and warm sunny day on a farm, Scout and his Dad were playing catch with a baseball. They kept on going back and forth until Scout threw it terribly and it launched all the way into the depths of the corn field. Scout was very scared about going into the cornfield because he has always had nightmares about the creepy scarecrow. But Scouts dog, Cooper always brightens his day when he was sad.

Scout told himself “I know I have the guts to do it, so I’m going to do it”. But as he went deeper into the cornfield he started feeling  as if someone was watching him.

He ignored the feeling and decided to head deeper into the abyss of the cornfield. He was searching and searching and could not find the ball. As he looked ahead he saw a trail of torn baseball skin. He asked himself, “should I follow it? No I can't I’m too scared to even move.” But then he realized that he had to prove to his dad that he was brave, so he kept on going and followed the baseball skin trail.

As Scout was following the trail he looked down and saw that the trail stopped. When he poked his head up he saw that there was a scarecrow, standing right in the middle of it, holding his baseball. He was frozen in fear. He could not think about anything else except the scarecrow. He knew that he had to get the ball back. 

As he was walking away he noticed that the scarecrow was getting closer to him with every step Scout took. When Scout finally got to the end of the clearing he noticed that the scarecrow was so close to him that he was basically breathing on him.

The ball was all torn up but he managed  to get what was left of it because that’s what he went into the cornfield to do. As if all seemed lost Scouts dog came out of absolutely nowhere to save him. Scout couldn’t understand his dog that well but he knew his dog was trying to say something. So he decided to follow his dog, hoping that he would lead him to safety. 

Scout was running through the cornfield, corn punching him in the face with every step, he could barely see the exit to the maze. He could hear his dad shouting and screaming as loud as he could. Then, he ran right through the final corn patches between him and his dad. When he was finally out of the cornfield he ran into the warm arms of his dad and gave him a big hug.
