Find the Light was released in March 12th, 2022. This movie is a drama. The director's name is Abdallah Khan and the main actors are Jaysol Doy, George MacKay and Seema Bowri. This film is about a young Pakistani man who is a victim of bullying. We think the film is short but tells a great story. We really liked the film, the direction and the context.

Checkpoint is a short animation film directed by Jana Kattan. It was presented at the This is England festival. The story is about a young girl who needs to pass a checkpoint to go to school. When she is queuing she sees an old man with a bag of oranges but the soldier won’t let him pass so he goes back. After spending the whole day waiting, when she needs to present her pass to the soldier, the girl panics and runs back home. On her way back, she sees the old man and eats an orange with him.

We chose that movie because we like animation and we find that this animation is beautiful and the music of the movie is gentle. This movie is real because it talks about the conflict in Israel and Palestine. We think this movie represents the life of some people in the world. The short film is original and the end is friendly.

“Ruthless” is a short film directed by Matthew McGuigan. It is set in Northern Ireland during the 70s (during the conflit between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland). It tells the story of a young boy, PJ, who is living with his father. PJ could do anything to have the latest rock album, and so he sells his father’s leg: Ruth (hence the name of the short film...). We saw this short film during the “This is England” festival and loved it.

The acting is wonderful. The little boy is an endearing character, and the father is very touching. We loved the scene when the little boy puts glitter makeup on his cheeks. The storyline is real and funny, because not everyone is selling his father’s leg for an album, even if the story is set on an unhappy context.

It’s the story of a young man who is harassed, he lives with his mother who is sick. His father left when he was little. This movie is interesting because it talks about bullying, it is like a message to young people to talk about harassment. Lina et Brenda 3e1

The Well is an animation by Peter Stanley. This short film shows us Trailer Trish, a teenager who wants to be friends with a popular group of friends. So, to impress them, she takes the three friends to a secret place in the forest where she found a magic well : it grants people's wishes when they drop the bucket. But things go wrong and the teenagers don't make the good wishes. Adam, Jeanne, Albane, 3e1

OPINION: I think the characters are very strange and the music is scary. I don't like this short film because it is not fun but the story is original and the settings are beautiful. My favourite character is Trish because she is smart but she is shy. Julie, 3e1 The story is original even though it is a little cruel and strange but I find it wrong that Trailer Trish becomes as bad as the three others at the end and I really don't like the drawings: I think they are not pretty, they are simple and also horrible. Albane, 3e1 This short movie is original because it was made with Unreal Engine which is a 3D editor. This animation is great, it has no major problems but the idea of a magical object that grants wishes was seen in many movies. Augustin, 3e1

RISE 365 is in touch with another association named FELIX who delivers food surplus. RISE 365 is the diminutive for Rassemble, Inspire, Sustain, Emancipate all 365 days.

The people :

The actors are Joyclen Buffong, Femi, Kiran, Gladys, Lorraine, Ann, Marvin and Razak. Joyclen is the main founder of the association with Kiran. The association has principal leaders like Femi, Gladys and Razak.

Our opinion :

	This short movie is good because it upgrades the people's opinion of youth and it proves that youth can work with adults for the benefit of society. This documentary brings happiness and it's interesting. It's a shame that it doesn't develop more on the point of view of Kingsmead's inhabitants even if we sometimes see the people.

The presentation :

This short movie is a documentary which was shown in the "This is England" festival. It portrays young people doing volunteer work for an organisation named RISE 365 at Kingsmead. With the pandemic, the social services for the youth and the schools were closed. This organisation helped the inhabitants of their neighborhood by packing and delivering food. They made 1300 meals in 6 months, twice a week.

HOW I DIDN'T BECOME A PIANO PLAYER How I didn’t Become a Piano Player is a comedy which talks about a little boy, Ted, who is very very clumsy and gifted in nothing. One day, someone brings him a piano and he thinks&nbsp;: «&nbsp;Piano is my vocation&nbsp;». So he takes piano lessons with his neighbour, an old woman. But he is too bad&nbsp;! This film is very funny because the boy wants to progress but he can’t do it.

Logan Shearer plays Ted, the main role, and Tom Felton is the voice over. Supporting actress Gabrielle Hamilton plays the piano teacher. Our favorite character is Ted, the lead role, because he’s so hilarious. We appreciated this movie because it’s funny and we advise it to people who like to laugh. This film won many awards. SUMMARY Find the Light is a 12 minute movie made up of 19 people. The director of this film is Abdullah Khan. George MacKay , Rhys Mcgowan and Jaysol Doy are the main actors. This film tells the story of a teenager of Pakistani origin who is hit and insulted by schoolmates. He lives alone with his mother who seems in poor health. Zak, the teenager, lives bad moments because of this bullying and gets dark thoughts when remembering all these insults… OUR OPINION we find this film very good because it is a warning to harassment. We find it very sad and at the same time we like it because it is a sensitive subject.

This short film is about a mother who is divorced. It's the weekend and she has to take her daughter to her father's house. We follow the routine of the girls and their problems. I really enjoyed this film because we feel the sadness of the mother who has to leave her child every other weekend. The actors are really good, we can clearly see their emotions. I found the music appropriate to the situation. I feel a little sad about the story because it shows what some people are really going through. I think this short film is very well done! Adèle, 4e

RUTHLESS This film is entitled «&nbsp;Ruthless&nbsp;» it takes place in 1970, in Northern Ireland. It’s about a little boy who wants to buy the Glam Rock album. He sells the fake leg of his father to get money and buy it. He is ready to do anything to get his album which he really loves.

The young boy is played by Jay Lowey and his father is played by Frankie McCafferty. Ruthless didn’t win an award but it was nominated for best short film in a festival. We appreciated this short film because it is cute and moving, and the little boy is endearing. Julie, Jeanne et Albane 3e1

At the beginning of the film, there is a little girl with her mother. The girl wakes up to go to school. Her mother puts Jaffa oranges in her bag. She grabs her school bag and gets out of her home. After a long way, she arrives at a checkpoint. There is a crowd of people there so now, she moves on step by step and she is very worried about her school. I liked the film because I find the story interesting . It talks about the difficult life of Palestinians.

This film is a comedy and it is entitled&nbsp;How I Didn’t Become a Piano Player. The actors are&nbsp;: Logan Shearer, who plays the character of Ted, Gabrielle Hamilton who plays Mrs Chin, and Tom Felton who is Ted’s voice.

The story is about a little boy named Ted who can’t do anything and he starts taking piano lessons. He goes to Mrs Chin’s house to learn playing piano but he still can’t. This film was funny and interesting, the acting was good and fun. I loved the story because even if he can’t play piano, the boy doesn’t give up. The film was really enjoyable. It was a little sad because the kid couldn’t do anything. But it was really good.

STORYLINE: Letter to You is a short film about a red-haired girl who rollerskates through the city while listening to music. She thinks that carefreeness makes the world brighter. But then she sees lonely people and she can't breathe anymore. Until, one day, she meets a boy in a park and learns that "sorrow can be healed with generosity". Elise, 3e2 OPINION The topic of this film is interesting because it can help people who have a sorrow in their life. Holly Roberts plays her role very well and the storyline is well done. Danya, 3e2 I liked this film because I think that the story was interesting and the girl gave people hope. The acting was really good because it felt like it was real. I found the story really meaningful. Ana, Tristan, 3e2 This short film is very touching. The way that it talks about mourning is delicate and Holly Roberts, the actress who plays the girl, makes the story seem very realistic. We can almost feel her pain. The music which expresses the girl's feelings is well chosen too. I like the film for all the emotions we can feel. Garance,3e2
