This book has been written in the framework of the etwinning project :"Used object in Art 2018-2019 , by the pupils from P.Faliro School , Athens, Greece and the pupils from Léon Lin elementary school ,Ducos, Martinique , France ".
In this project , the pupils examined the place of objects in their daily lives.
In particular, they questioned their use, their life, their future. The main question was : Are the objects going to end up being polluting waste or can they become Artwork? Polluting waste or Artwork?
We hope you'll enjoy reading the story of "Mr Ben' wonders".

Part 1: Written by P.Faliro School, Greece
There was a neighborhood in a small town. It was a beautiful city and a beautiful neighborhood. There were small houses with one or two floors and, definitely, a garden. So, all the neighbors had their own garden. Some were small ones, others were bigger, but they were all filled with flowers and vegetables and trees were growing in all of them. One could see lemon trees and fig trees, sunflowers and golden olive oil trees emerging from the stone walls. One could even smell the scent of flowers.

But one garden was standing out. It was neither too big nor too small, but it was very tidy. It was surrounded by a particularly tall wall and seemed to give out any smell one could possibly think of. Its plants, green and robust, were jumping out from all the others in the neighborhood. They stretched their branches over the tall wall, wreathed the stones with their shoots and hung over the adjoining courtyards full of bunches of fruit and many flowers.
But the most important of all was that chirping and bird fluttering was heard. There were birds in the other gardens too, but this looked like a birds’ paradise.
There was, however, a problem: The resident of the house
and owner of the garden was strange. They called him Mr. Ben.
He was a man of few words. While the other neighbors greeted
each other and exchanged their news, sharing opinions and advice
about their plants, Mr.Ben just rode on his old bike ... growling ! If
he was in the mood, he would just say Hmmm , and that was
all.
Sometimes he would not even say hello !So he ended up being the mystery of the neighborhood. Everybody tried to learn something about him, his family and his garden, but … in vain!
Some people said that he was doing strange things behind the wall and that something really strange was happening with his plants and that was the reason why they were wonderful!
