What are the beliefs?

Christians believe in only one god and forbid idols. Most Christian traditions teach that the one God is expressed in three “persons”- the father, the son and the holy spirit. Jesus followers gave him the title of Christ, which means Messiah or the anointed one.

They have 2 ancient creeds that Christians use as a statement in their belief, the Apostles creed and the Nicene creed.

They believe in Jesus and consider him the son of the god. Christians also believe in the justification of faith. Christians also do believe as though the wealthy should share land and property with the poor and that they should share wealthy and luxurious gods with the people of all social classes.

Most Christians celebrate their faith together by joint worship and especially at communion services (sometimes called the Eucharist or the Lord’s supper).

This act recalls Jesus sharing bread and wine with his disciplines.

The Christians also believed a lot in festivals. The period of time leading up to Easter included holy week where they recalled Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. The practice of Christianity may also include rituals, sermons, commemoration, sacrifices, praying, mediation, religious music, and religious art.

There was once a discipline named Peter. He went from house to house talking and informing people about the life of Jesus. He influenced non-Christians to become Christian and worship Jesus, the son of god. As he spread the religion, the word spread out to a man named Paul. Paul heard of Christianity and loved the idea. He became a Christian and played a big role in the spreading of Christianity.

How did Christianity spread in the Roman Empire?

Paul was a devoted Jew, so he could speak to his other Jews about Christianity. He was also considered a Roman citizen in the eyes of the community and country. Because of this, he could claim all benefits of citizenship and he could be seen as one of the Romans. This helped him spread the religion throughout different communities, and different parts of the world. Paul was also a very dedicated human being. He was very passionate about his new faith. He has many struggles and difficulties trying to spread Christianity, but he persevered to spread the word.

How did Christianity change the Roman Empire? Why would an emperor use a belief to help them govern?

Emperors use religions to help rule a country in more manner and control. Christianity is a very famous religion that changed the Roman Empire forever. Christianity came between many people, communities, and rulers as they ruled the Roman empire. Trajan, Decius, and Diocletian were all rulers of the Roman empire who weren’t in favor of Christianity. They believed that all Christians in the community shall be persecuted or executed. They ruled their empire with no freedom for those Christians. Later on, Empire Constantin won power over the fight of Christ. He promoted Christians and offered freedom to all Roman citizens. After Constantine, Emperor Theodosius forced full Christian beliefs on all people. As society evolved Christianity went from being a hated religion, to a religion that took over the empire.
