     Many healthy breakfast workshops were organised in the school kitchen where children prepared and enjoyed nutritious breakfast dishes full of flavour.

According to Dee Madore, a registered dietitian, ‘Teaching children about healthy breakfast choices and the importance of refueling their bodies every day can start them on the right track for a healthier lifestyle’.

According to a popular quote, “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.” The quote emphasizes the need of kick-starting the day with a rich meal. Breakfast is usually considered the most important meal of the day. As the name suggests, it breaks the overnight fasting period, it replenishes the supply of glucose to boost energy levels and alertness, while also providing other essential nutrients required for good health.&nbsp;Many studies have linked eating breakfast to benefits like better memory and concentration, lower chances of getting various diseases and lower danger of being overweight.

      Teachers and students at Dimotiko Scholeio Tseriou 1, in the framework of the Erasmus+ project ‘European Food Adventures’ were engaged in various activities that focused on the importance of having breakfast during the morning rather that skipping it.&nbsp;They studied the key role of breakfast in daily happiness. They also learned to make healthy breakfast choices by preferring wholegrain products, low fat dairy products and food rich in fiber like fruit, nuts and vegetables.&nbsp;They clearly understood that it is wiser to avoid eating often processed food rich in sugar like pastries, croissants and biscuits.&nbsp;

     Children of all grades at school learned how to organize their breakfast lunch boxes with healthy food.&nbsp;
