While he was listening to them, the president was thinking about what they should do. Finally, he came up with an extraordinary idea.-“A Rescue Mission! Yes, that's it!” he said and everybody stopped to listen to him. “To face the enemy we first need to find out what the enemy wants from us.

“Why me?” asked Pipis the handkerchief.&nbsp;“I was made of pure silk.&nbsp;My grandmother was the Queen of England's favorite handkerchief. 

Look at me now. I look like a piece of rag.” This went on and on with everybody sharing their story.&nbsp;

That same night they had walked back to the dump and shared their adventures with their friends. Next morning they all had a new home in their brand new trash cans and each can was used for garbage of the same material such as glass, paper or tin.-”Hooray, hooray! Long live recycling!” everybody shouted happily!

-”What are you doing here?”, the little boy asked and knelt in front of them. He couldn't believe his eyes. It took Jimmy a great deal of bravery to stand up and speak to the little boy.

-”We have come all the way from the dump to find out what you and the infamous Ms Recycling want from us”,he said angrily.&nbsp;

&nbsp;- “Tragic,” said the British aluminum foil. I've heard her name before. She had come to my own dump some years ago. She took some of my mates away. We never saw them again!- “Goodness gracious,” said everybody scared. Then they lay down to rest till dawn.&nbsp;

It was a hot summer day and in the dump outside the city everybody was upset All garbage was gathered in Central Square and they were trying to find out what was going on.

“What happened?” everybody was asking and they were panicky running here and there. “I'll tell you. I'll tell you. Please, calm down”,&nbsp;said Mr. Βeesbelize.

He ended up in the dump two years ago along with some other garbage people had picked up from the sea.&nbsp;He was extremely brave. You see, he had spent his entire life on a ship traveling around the world. He was a rare tin can, unique in the whole of the dump.&nbsp;

-“I'll go” he said and along followed two of his best friends, Paper and Phaedon. Although Paper was chicken, he was always willing to help at anything you might ask him to. He was one of a kind looking like a piece of art. You see, he had drawings all over him. They were made by a little boy.&nbsp;

Ms. Recycling&nbsp;and the garbage adventure

We listen the book for Ms Recycling and we draw about her. We read the book,the oldest students translate in English and all the kids draw it. We are from Portugal,Turkey, Iceland,Croatia and Greece. Enjoy it!!!

After we find out, we can think of an extermination plan. So, any courageous volunteers for this mission? Everybody was excited about the plan but nobody was willing to take part in it. Eventually, there was a voice in the back. It was Jimmy, a small tin can. Jimmy was a stranger. He wasn't from around there.

“Wake up! Wake up!” shouted Phaedon excitedly the next morning. “I know what we should do. I remembered that a very good friend of mine lives in the city. His name is Arthur. He knows everything and everyone.

He would know Ms Recycling for sure. They were sure they would make it. They greeted their new friends goodbye and they set on for the city center. A few blocks away they found Arthur in a deserted factory. -“What are you doing here, my friend?” Arthur asked happily.

-”Hello,” a voice said. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Fofo the toothbrush. Everybody knows me. I was starring in the “Bright White Teeth” TV commercial. These are my friends Lycurgus, pocket radio and Francesco, pencil case.&nbsp;

Both are imported.&nbsp;- “Who are you?” she asked-” I am Jimmy the tin can and these are my friends, Paper and Phaedon. We have just arrived from the dump on a very important mission. We must find some lady by the name “Recycling” who is threatening to eliminate our dump.&nbsp;

1st part Ms Recycling

The little boy smiled and started explaining to the brave little pieces of garbage what exactly was going on. -”Don't be afraid, my friends! Nobody is going to hurt you. You shouldn't be afraid of recycling. You got it all wrong. To understand what recycling is try and think of a circle.&nbsp;

A circle never stops like the circle of life of a tree that grows in the soil under the sun and it grows bigger and bigger giving us shade and its fruit. Eventually, however, there comes a moment in its life when it grows old and needs to go back to the Earth making possible for new trees to be born.&nbsp;

Maybe you should go there to find answers to your questions. But be careful!” he said. “Cities are dangerous places. Beware of the iron exterminators! People call them trash trucks, garbage trucks, rubbish trucks. If they get you, you won’t be able to get away.”

The three friends liked the little boy’s speech and they started wondering whether Ms Recycling they were looking for wasn’t something bad after all. But they had to make sure first so they decided to approach the little boy.&nbsp;

-“Hey, you, on the dais”, yelled Jimmy but there was no response. The little boy could not hear them because of all the noise so Jimmy shouted once more. -“Hey, you,can you hear me?” There was no response this time either. The little boy was looking around him when he noticed the three little pieces of garbage. 

- “Well, well, look who's here! Are you lost, my sweetheart? You look so unprotected that you are breaking my heart” said the Exterminator and started chasing them. “Come over here”, he shouted, “and you'll see what you’ll get. You're just useless garbage.&nbsp;

I wonder why people care so much about you. The three friends got really scared but they managed to hide in the yard of a house and get away from the Exterminator. A few blocks away they got lucky to hear two gentlemen talking about the Ministry of Environment and a new recycling project that has just started.&nbsp;

“We’ll get through the backdoor!”, said Jimmy excitedly. They ran right to the back of the building where&nbsp;they saw hundreds of children and grown-ups holding signs in their hands. On each sign the Earth was painted.

-”Oh God, they don't just want to destroy us. They want to destroy the whole world”, said Paper shivering.At that moment a young boy who was standing on a dais started speaking to&nbsp;the&nbsp;people that had gathered around him.

Without further ado, they started following the two men but they couldn't follow them into the building that they had entered. The big gate was closed right on their face“How are we going to get in?” they were wondering. They felt discouraged and they sat down to think of a plan.&nbsp;

Phaedon&nbsp;started telling him the story right from the beginning with every detail. Arthur didn't know what to say. He was just looking puzzled. -“I don't know much but I do remember that once I heard people talking about the Ministry of Environment.&nbsp;

This is what you’ll do, too. With your consent and with special equipment a new circle of life can start.Recycling is a process that turns you into useful new products and keeps our planet clean at the same time.

My dear friends, I sounded the alarm because something really serious happened of which I got informed a couple of minutes ago.

Or was it a couple of seconds ago? Anyway, what really matters is that I got informed of a horrible, horrible thing.&nbsp;

While Ms. Potato was visiting her cousin in the city, she heard people talking about some Ms. Recycling who would come to the dump in 2 days to get us!”, said Mr. Βeesbelize trying to conquer his fear.&nbsp;

“Who's Ms Recycling? What are we going to do?”&nbsp;everybody was shouting.

Mr. Βeesbelize was the president of all garbage in the dump. He was a prominent figure and the most sparkling bottle you have ever seen.

If you went up the hill and looked at the dump when the sun rose, you could see Mr. Βeesbelize always there sparkling in a corner.

On the other hand, Phaedon was very brave but also a bit strange. You see, he was a perfume bottle that had ended up in the dump by accident. He had fallen off the purse of some lady who was running to catch the bus.

That very night the three friends jumped over the wall of the dump and set on their mission. They walked and walked until they reached the city. They were so tired that they decided to spend the night in the park.

-”Earth is our home. It’s everybody's home. It belongs to all of us, young and old. It is our home. It is the biggest and most beautiful home in the whole universe. Earth is everything around us.&nbsp;

It's the Sun, it's the wind, it's the soil, it's nature, it’s the colors, it's the winter and snow, it's the spring and the flowers, it’s the summer and the sea, it’s the autumn leaves and the storm. Let's all hold hands and protect Mother Earth together! Let the sun go on warming more generations of humans.”

At the park they were surprised to see a strange looking blue trash can. They had never seen such a can before.-”What is this?”-”Let's find out what it is!”They climbed in to find out what was there in the blue trash can. In a few minutes they were in and they were astonished at what they saw.&nbsp;

There were lots and lots of garbage such as glass bottles, cardboard boxes, pieces of paper and glass and old magazines. All of them looked scared and none of them knew what they were doing there.&nbsp;
