Year 4 welcome book.

Bright ideas border

You will need to bring your book bag in to school everyday; it will be kept in your drawer. You will be given a guided reading book and also choose a book from our reading corner. These books are for you to read at school and at home.

At break-time you can have a piece of toast or bring in your own healthy snack from home.

You will also need to bring a water bottle in to school everyday. Please make sure that it is clearly labelled with your name and class. You must take your bottle home, wash it and refill it with fresh water each day.

At lunch, you can either bring in your own packed lunch or have a cooked meal from school. There are meat, halal meat and vegetarian options available for you to choose from. We go to the hall as a class and eat our lunch together there.

Year 4 keep their lunchboxes in the trolley at the bottom of the stairs.

You will come in to school through the park gates.

You will be dropped off and picked up here.

You will use these toilets, just like last year.

At St John's we have a very smart uniform, which you wear to school everyday. You will need: A blue jumper A blue shirt or blouse A school tie A grey skirt/dress or trousers Grey, blue or white tights/socks A pair of black school shoes. If you choose to wear a headscarf, it must also be blue.

On your P.E days you will come to school dressed in your P.E kit. All items must be labelled. You can wear: Blue shorts Plain navy jogging bottoms and sweatshirt or hoodie Pale blue t-shirt or polo Black P.E pumps.

Treasure Seekers (Saxons) - Learn all about life in Saxon Britain! Why did people come and what did they do when they got here? Junior Medics - find out all about how your digestive system works and how to keep your teeth clean and healthy. Raiders (Vikings) - Who were the Vikings and how did they change life in Britain? Avengers Assemble - find out all about electricity and make your own electrical game! Super Sonologists - learn about how sound is made, how it travels and how it changes.
