The teacher calls the boys aside and asks them to say what the problem with each other is. After carefully listening to the boys, the teacher asks Alex to say how he thinks David felt when he called him an idiot. When you describe someone negatively, you hurt the person's feelings. After a brief discussion, Alex apologized to David. The teacher encouraged the boys to work together next time as they are both in the same group, and report to her how they feel working together.
Conflict among students
Scenario
Alex and David are best friends and are in the same group in class in Grade 1. The teacher selects David to answer a question. Alex is upset because he thinks he would do a better job answering the question and called David an idiot.
Solution
The teacher calls the boys aside and asks them to say what the problem with each other is. After carefully listening to the boys, the teacher asks Alex to say how he thinks David felt when he called him an idiot. When you describe someone negatively, you hurt the person's feelings. Conflict with a Parent
Mr. Franson, a Grade 3 teacher sat at his desk when suddenly, a ball hit him in his face. After inquiring where the object came from, Ladeen, one of the students shouted, "A Dasheeni fling it, sir!" Dasheeni, who is always disruptive, told the teacher it was not him and called the same student's name. However, the teacher flogged him and sent him to a naughty corner. Dasheeni went home and told his dad, who is a single parent since he lost his wife to cancer. He will now have to miss a day's work, to get some satisfaction for his son. Upon his arrival at the school, Mr. Tanso, Dasheeni's father, heard how everyone in the class treated Dasheeni, and he grew angry. He then turn and saw the teacher coming toward his class. hurling expletives at the teacher, he missed the opportunity to have an amicable conversation and was led to the principal's office immediately.
Mr. Tanso was brought to the principal's office where he expressed his disgust at what happened to his son. He explained to the principal that Dasheeni is a sickly child and needs to move every 30 minutes, this record he said, was on Dasheeni's file at school. Upon receiving the file, the principal realized that the records were there, but was not seen by the child's teacher.
Mr. Franson was then summoned to the office to join the conversation. There he discovered that Dasheeni was having a medical issue which he was not able to control his movement. Hence, his reason for getting out of his seat so often. Because of the seriousness of Dasheeni's illness, he has compensated some money for medical expenses. Mr. Tanso, regrettably apologize for his misconduct and Mr. Frankson was reminded about understanding the antecedents before treating the behaviour.
