The Hunt

It was the dead of night in a mysterious forest. Tommy does not know how he came to be here. He can’t remember how he got here. All he remembers is his last birthday. He just turned 18 and his parents got him his first car. That was the happiest day of his whole life.&nbsp; Tommy felt scared and while trying to get up, he feels a sharp pain on his leg. He lifts his Jeans to reveal a large cut, bleeding very heavily.There is a crate right next to him, but first he quickly checks his fitness watch. There are no new steps, just how many steps he had before he got here. There is no time. The watch just says 12:00, even after he waited a minute.

I dedicate this book to my family.

As Tommy lit a new fire, the beast snuggling next to him, he pondered. Will he ever get out of this creepy forest. He boiled up an MRE to eat and shared his meal with his new friend. As the fog creeped into the forest, Tommy thought about life outside this endless forest. He wondered what his family was doing, but he couldn't remember his family that well. He doesn't remember their facial features, or their names. He doesn’t remember his best friend or what he liked to eat. He couldn’t remember anything at all…...

He sprints in a random direction making noise as he goes. He crashes into an unfamiliar object. He looks up at the towering tree. &nbsp;“It seems to be growing a type of fruit,” He says in his mind.&nbsp;&nbsp; He climbs the tree and finds peaches. He grabs some and gets down. After traveling some time he finds a run down military truck. He finds some more crates inside the trunk covered in a canvas. He finds a crowbar right next to the crates. With might, he opens the crate to find camping supplies. A pot, a small tent, a portable stove, and a sleeping bag. He also finds two MREs, chicken soup flavor. He gets into the truck and looks inside the cabin and finds only keys but they wouldn’t be useful due to the condition of the truck.

He camps in the cabin of the truck, snug in his bag. After sleeping a while, Tommy gets out and walks into a random direction. After more walking, he hears the rush of water.&nbsp; He walks slowly with caution towards the sound. He moves closer and suddenly his foot touches the small stream of water. As he fills the pot with water, he can hear footsteps behind him, then he feels a large paw touch him. It was the beast. Large yellow teeth, and a snarky grin. Claws as long as pencils, but sharper than pencils. Fur was in splotches with bald spots. As he turned around, the monster lunged at him. Tommy thought it was the end, but fortunately for him, the monster was actually extremely peaceful. 

Tommy doesn’t know what this place is. It seems like a forest except there are no birds singing, no crickets chirping, not even wind rustling the tree’s leaves. Tommy sees that it is very foggy and makes the conclusion that he cannot see at least 10 ft in front of him. He finds a flashlight in the large crate as well as a backpack filled with only two granola bars and a military style canteen filled with drinkable water.He also finds some bandages and a tourniquet. Tommy turns on the flashlight and limps forward. He tries to make little noise and does not speak. Who knows what lies in this strange forest? &nbsp;He finds a building ,possibly a large storage building. He circles it to try to find an entrance. After the third turn, he finds two large garage doors built tall enough that semi trucks can fit in here. In the building he finds a lighter, and more batteries for his flashlight. In the distance he can hear a thing roar with a metallic screech. It sounded far, but Tommy doesn't want to meet with that beast.
