GREEK MYTHOLOGY
Greek Mythology is a group of mythical stories about Gods, Goddesses, creatures, heroes, and the rituals of ancient Greece. The earliest dating back 2,700 years. The Greek religion and Greek Mythology are not the same. Greek Mythology, which is mostly concerned with traditional tales, is closely related to Greek religion but is not the same. The Greeks had no word for religion itself. The nearest terms were 'eusebeia'( piety ) and 'threskeia' ( cult ). The Greek myths and legends known today are primarily from Greek literature. The myths narrate about the creation of gods and the world. The struggle among the gods for supremacy and the effects of their adventures and powers on the mortal world, including their link with natural phenomenon such as thunderstorms or the seasons and their connection with cultic sites or rituals.
